2022-01-14 | (A) Andy Goldin | vs | George Hiotis | | German win | I managed to pull out a win in a 'squeaker' of a game against George as the defending Americans. Based on my read of the terrain and his setup, I came in on the center and right (north) of the map, with the idea being the woods and hedge would mask my movement. Instead, George chose to position both of his Tank Destroyers forward, knocking out one of my STUGs on Turn 1 and immobilizing a Mk4. It could have been much worse had he made rate. Luckily his dice didn't help him and I was able to move most of my vehicles out of his line of fire, leaving only the immobilized Mk4 and his wingman moving far behind. Since my AFVs had to be mobile to exit, he chose to engage the moving Mk4 and... missed. My immobilized Mk4 which had range by that point then hit and turned the TD into a burning wreck.
George then sortied his remaining TD to get a rear shot on one of my other Mk4s. Although he missed, my tank gunner did not and by the end of Turn 3 George was out of TDs. What could have been an easy exit was stymied by aggressive play with is three Bazooka-toting squads which defended the eastern treeline and a fourth in the center. George's Americans managed to kill a Mk4 in CC (which didn't have enough points to exit). Another of my Mk4s got attacked on the woods road on its way off the board and, by firing with every weapon on board, managed to pin a BAZ team that came up the woods-road (which then missed), break another BAZ team and kill a squad and leader in CC. At that point I had 3 AFVs off the board and a lead in CVP. George failed his Personal Morale Check and conceded. That was a very close game! |

Six TH DR, five AFV kills. The dice were with the Hellcats. |
2021-02-06 | (D) M T | vs | R.S. | | American win | The Hellcats were able to stop the German armor, destroying six AFVs by the end of turn 4 with the loss of one vehicle and a Stun result on the other. This scenario seems very challenging for the Germans, their numerical advantage is easily balanced by the Hellcats being HIP and firing with a ROF of 2. Also, the 76L is very powerful against PzIVs and StugIIIs. |
2020-12-29 | (A) Christopher Graff | vs | Stephen Solomon | | German win | Germans rushed forward with an infantry screen in the treeline dividing the two boards, and got lucky destroying an American TD early and forcing the crew on the other Hellcat to abandon the vehicle. It was tough for Steve to recover following that even after breaking several of my squads on the left flank. It wasn't enough to stop several German tanks from reaching the exit. Good game but a tough run for the Americans! |

This game is a cruel mistress.

2016-12-22 | (A) Jon Jaramillo | vs | Justin | | American win | I tried to slug it out with the American TDs and got annihilated. He rolled two crits, including one to end the game. I probably spent far too much time and effort trying to kill the TDs and lost sight of the victory conditions. |
2016-11-13 | (A) Colin Emerson | vs | Michael Dorosh | | German win | Very fast game completed in 2 hours.
Brought all AFV's on North side of board and dropped troops behind hedges, keeping tanks out of fire. A Pz IV and a Stug were quickly destroyed by the HIP Tank destroyers.
I broke some squads in NE corner of map preparing for an eventual push. Managed to destroy both TD's with my tanks after threatening one with panzer fausts and destroying one that snuck around for a rear attack.
5 AFV's left, run them off the board past the broken bazooka men.
I see this either being a slugfest or a run them off if setup and a couple of rolls go your way. |
2016-11-13 | (D) Michael Dorosh | vs | Colin Emerson | | German win | Fast game; my TD brewed up a PzIV and I managed to kill a StuG III. With my positions revealed, the German concentrated on the north side of the board and rushed off the board after breaking my bazookamen and knocking out my TDs. Done in 3 turns. |

2016-08-01 | (D) Martí Cabré | vs | Eoin Corrigan | | American win | This one was fast! I deployed the TD in 19G4 and 19I8 to cover both flanks and most infantry covering the central woods with some units in the eastern woods covering the obvious escape routes. The Germans advanced on the south area and stopped near 16F3. I opened fire with my 19G4 TD but and thanks to ROF I managed to kill two tanks! I also moved the other TD to 16N6 to encircle the five remaining tanks with my two TD, the second one hull down. He burned the 19G4 tank but missed on the 16N6, also damaging a MA, and on my AFPh I burned another one! Wow! On his turn 2 he moved his tanks to the 19EE6 area, facing one of my bazookas that was there, but ESB'd to immobilize one tank and my last TD wrecked another one. With only two mobile tanks (one of them with malfd MA), he could no longer win. |

2015-05-04 | (A) X von Marwitz | vs | Andreas Reimer | | German win | Played this one as the Germans this time. Entered cautiously, deciding to unload/unload by bailing out during German T1 rather than to risk my infantry coming under fire as riders. Then worked forward to the 16L6 area in turn 2 keeping the MMG in the back at 1st Level as Sniper Bait and to keep the US honest not to approach the hedges from the central woods. As that worked fine, I decided to exit on the southern flank. When I began to cross bd19, one of his TDs opened up from 19P8, killing one of my tanks. Throughout the game, I was somewhat plagued by malfunctions. I broke 2xMAs, 1xCMG, 1xBMG and 3x an LMG, which kept me on my toes. Luckily, my Sniper took out one of his TDs counterbalancing my missing MAs. I got across most of my infantry during German T4 to the south eastern half of bd19, where one of my StuGs was blazed by a bazooka. My infantry nibbled away at the US forces, but the difficulty was to get the AFVs across bd19. Eventually, I managed to drive off 3, opening a possibility to win if I were to cause more CVP than the American. When in turn 5, his remaining TD rolled a 3 to hit and subsequently kill another one of my tanks during advancing fire and despite a successful motion attempt (with an escape route...), things were looking grim, since my only remaining tank onboard had a malfed MA. However, some of my rearguard infantry could lure the TD to fire its AAMG while a full SS-squad survived a MA hit and an intensive fire miss to move ADJACENT to the TD. The squad found a PF but missed BUT it managed to pass the PAATC to go into CC. It had to roll a 6 for the ATMM check but still managed just to kill the TD. I was back in the game... However, the American was not dumb and he pulled back to get out of reach of my infantry. A US broken 8-1+337 would all that I could still reach. At that point, I had 3 AFV exited and the VP total was 18 to 15 in favor of the US. The start of the last German turn saw both rallying and me losing another HS. So my plan was to encircle those 2 units and despatch them. One SS-squad moving ADJACENT was badly pasted but rolled HoB to go berserk for continuing movement into the US unit's hex, which broke due to FPF. The Zerkers could not harm the brokies during the AFPh, so the Americans did rout away, only to surrender. These Prisoners changed the VP count 19 to 21 in favor of the Germans, giving them the win. Tense and interesting game. |

2012-09-16 | (D) Jeff T | vs | Ripper | | American win | This one ended quickly for the SS. I had a Tank Destroyer in 19A7 and JVan ended movement with three tank in the 16CC5 / 16BB5 / 16BB4 area. In defensive fire I took out one, then another in prep fire and the third as it tried to escape in 16Y4. That put him behind the 8-ball. He got his troops unloaded in the large woods in 16V10/16W10 and 19M10 but when he tried to move another two tanks past the TD, one was hit and killed. At that point, he was down over 20CVP and had little hope of gaining more back. This one plays fast and one side or the other is bound to lose quickly in my opinion. |
2012-04-02 | (A) Richard Carter | vs | Stephen Mackintosh | | German win | I skirted down the northern edge, using hedgerows as cover. Initially I had moved too many afv's beyond infantry but was able to recover. Had a lot of good smoke rolls though s8 is helpful. Got four afv's off on turn 6. |
2012-01-25 | (D) X von Marwitz | vs | Alex Koestler | | American win | |
2011-02-25 | (D) Bob Callen | vs | Paul Allen | | American win | Played this before in tournaments, winning as either side. This time brutally short for the Germans, who made a mad dash up the right side (from German fBE perspective) of board 16. They remained in motion until the end of the MPh, then I revealed my HIP Hellcat in one of the board edge woods hexes on board 19. Killed two of the moving tanks on turn 1. Then moved my other Hellcat from 19i10 into a flanking position hull down behind the wall at 16m8 (amazing how much ground these things can cover) to trap the remaining 5 German tanks between my tanks. Killed another tank with each Hellcat in German turn 2 MPh, and opponent conceded. Really thought the big mistake was trying o dash off the board for quick win, along with staying in motion--some could stay in motion, but some tanks needed to stop in an overwatch position for when I revealed my tanks. |
2011-01-01 | (A) Rami Saarinen | vs | JR | | American win | The Americans had mad dice! I had smoke and small windows of LOS and I was still totally wiped off the board. With ROF or course. Argh. |

2009-09-13 | (D) Scott Fischbein | vs | Bryant Henley | | American win | Over by turn two - Bryant split his forces and I was able to open up on both sides with the Hellcats. By the end of the first turn there were two wrecked German AFVs, and two more on the next turn meant the win for me. |
2009-09-10 | (D) Scott Fischbein | vs | Chris Olden | | German win | My setup was pretty bad, and Chris walked all over me. My Hellcats were caught out of position and had to move across the board, and were promptly destroyed... after that, it was a cakewalk. Good setup is CRUCIAL in this scenario. |
