Because of the armistice signed between the Italians and Allies, the Germans were forced to retreat from Sardinia to Italy via Corsica. Meanwhile everywhere in Corsica the Germans faced attack by partisan bands and Italians, now their enemies. A German patrol reached Sartene to probe a way through the town for the remainder of their unit. Very soon the SS were under fire, shots seemingly erupting from every house. . .
Attacker: German (SS) (Reconnaissance elements of the 1st Reichsfuhrer Brigade)
