The last offensive towards Moscow found the SS Division "Das Reich" approaching the city of Istra. In front of this vital road and rail junction that connected Moscow with Leningrad is the small village of Gordosiheche. Know to be strongly defended by a fresh Siberian Division, the assault was to be preceded by a nebelwerfer rocket barrage. Led by tow assault guns, two battalions would attack across the now snow-covered landscape while a third battalion would attempt a flanking attack through the forest.
