2024-03-06 | (A) Ric Hammond | vs | Guy Jimenez | | German win
2023-05-31 | (D) Craig Renier | vs | Peter Palmer | | German win | The Germans rushed the British left flank with the AFVs and half the infantry. The remaining infantry with MGs kept the British occupied in the center. On German Turn 1, the British were able to wreck one AFV with the ATR, but the Germans broke all the British defenders. In the center, the Germans, using spray fire, stripped concealment on one stack and revealed a dummy stack. The British withdrew as best as possible in an attempt to rally, but the broken squads remained broken. The British had faint hope when the SOMUA hit the German killer stack wounding the leader and breaking the squads. However, by the end of German Turn 3 the SOMUA was first shocked and then wrecked, the AT gun malf'd, and the only Good Order MMC was the AT crew. Post game the players realized the British neglected to place their Wire on the board, which influenced the outcome greatly. |
2023-05-25 | (D) Shaun Andrews | vs | Craig Renier | | German win
2023-05-25 | (A) Mark Thompson | vs | British (Shaun Andrews) | | German win | The German's almost failed their PMC when one 38t bogged try to clear the wire on the North side of the Western bridge, the other became stunned trying to VBM freeze the British LMG, and the majority of infantry remained hung-up on the wire, with 2 broken HSs and a wounded 9-1. Fortunes changed dramatically, and by their turn 3, the Germans had decimated the British infantry, Controlled all but two Buildings (with the remaining ones in easy reach), and gained positions to interdict the British reinforcements. The British conceded on their next turn, faced with the daunting task of re-capturing the Buildings with 3 squad-equivalents in the Carriers against the entire 10 squad German OB. Although it is a calculated risk, I believe the British must place their LMG and best leader in the building hex directly across the Western Bridge to lay a FL down the bridge approach hex, the bridge itself, and wire hex. This will cause tremendous problems for the Germans if these units are not taken out by a PFPh killer stack. |
2022-08-30 | (A) Doba Serge | vs | Samuel M | | German win
2022-01-06 | (D) David Ramsey | vs | Martin Barker | | British / French win | The Germans ignored the bridge covered by the S35 and instead went for the less-guarded but wire-shielded bridge. The wire held up the infantry, the AT gun took out one tank and despite making some in-roads the carriers swung in to protect the final buildings. Always seems tough on the Germans but the combined balance on Roar and here suggests it's very doable. |
2020-04-14 | (D) Jeff B | vs | Tom Mueller | | British / French win | A tiny little scenario that seems extremely tough for the Germans, Tom opted to kick off the assault from the get-go. His first squad attempting to take the foot bridge was busted, while the other half of his men safely armor assaulted onto the bridge with his tanks. The next turn his replacement squad on the foot bridge was turned berserk so, while I saved my tank for one more turn, I would have a tough time ousting those men. Meanwhile on the bridge, despite using all of their movement to get under the wire without tank support, I was unable to stop his infantry. One of his tanks bogged, but the other came safely crashing into the first building. I chose to use my AT gun to try and stop this menace, but to no effect. Turn 3 his reinforcements came pouring in, and my sole LMG that laid a FL to stop them broke. I did manage to knock out his bogged tank with my gun. I had moved some infantry under my tank to support an eventual CC, and ended up losing a HS. Another HS that was making it's way over wasn't careful enough and pinned in the street. Things were not looking good for me. But the next turn my armored cavalry came on and, while I would've loved to strip all the goodies from my Carriers, my men were quickly needed on the ground. The three northernmost buildings became my ring of defense, with H1 being my Alamo. We both beat each other up that turn, with me losing 1.5 squads and my 8-1 on his half of the turn, and him losing 2 squads and his last tank during my half. I thought I was once again in good shape, but my bypassing abandoned vehicles worked greatly against me in CC, and he just had so many men to deal with. Thankfully he had blazed up my sole occupied Carrier in CC in front of my Alamo. This allowed him relative safe movement here, but prevented him from performing the coup de grace during his fire phases. It all came down to my last turn with us locked in melee in the final building. I had three encircled HS to his 9-1 and squad. two of my three HS passed their MCs when he shot into the melee, but his squad failed to stand fast, preserving the victory for me. Ended up being a very tight game. |
2020-03-07 | (D) Shane Pask | vs | | | British / French win | Eliminated German sniper turn 2. S35 got one tank, other largely ineffective. Germans took too long to cross bridge with the sniper and AT gun helping to suppress their advance. On the last turn, 1 german squad had to win a melee, defeat a concealed squad and capture another building - not going to happen. |
2019-08-31 | (A) Paul Works | vs | Dennis Dowd | | German win
2018-08-26 | (D) Gordon Jupp | vs | Nick Holmshaw | | British / French win | Great game, my 2nd playing but as the defender this time...those Carriers are crazy fun! |
2018-06-21 | (A) Simon Staniforth | vs | | | German win
2015-09-27 | (A) Gordon Jupp | vs | Derek Cox | | British / French win | This was the first game of our 'double header' and a great game it was. I tried to winkle out the ATG position before commiting the tanks, which worked to a degree but the gun crew wouldn't roll over until turn 4 and I lost a squad and a half in the process! But then managed to clear the wire from the bridge with one of the tanks and with the reinforcements took control of all the buildings by end of German turn 6 movement, but Derek had thrown 2 Carrier HS into the back most building against 1 HS. I reinforced it with a full squad in my last APh but he threw a 3 in the CC to kill both my units and thus control 1 building! Very good game and worth a replay :) |
2014-08-16 | (D) nathan wegener | vs | Jared B | | British / French win | Had a blast with this. First turn attack blazed the S35 and cleared the path for the German infantry but the plucky squad and LMG waiting for them sent squad after squad back across the bridge. The flank fell with the ATG missing 2 shots and the German reinforcements pressed the back of the board but the Carriers went crazy with 2 successful overruns and killing a panzer to save the day. |
2013-12-16 | (D) Paul Works | vs | Scott Martin | | British / French win
2013-01-05 | (A) Ian Morris | vs | Gerard Burton | | German win
2012-09-16 | (A) John Van Natta | vs | Jeff T. | | British / French win
2012-09-16 | (D) Jeff T | vs | Ripper | | British / French win | This was a fun scenario. The British held on to two buildings and with some luck it could have gone the Germans way. The wire held up the majority of the German advance early and it proved just enough to hold them off the last building. The carrier reinforcements recaptured a lone building away fromt he battle. One tank was immobilized early next to the church and another was taken out trying to clear the wire from an ATR. This one will be replayed as it was quick and fun and lots of tactical choices for both sides. Recommended. |
2011-08-29 | (A) David Ramsey | vs | Martin Barker | | British / French win | Lost convincingly as the Germans to the carrier sweep on the British turn 5. Lost both tanks in turn one, one to the Gun, the other a critical from the ATR. Malf'd 2 of the 3 (one captured) ATRs but by the end of the scenario the British had solid control of 3 buildings. |
2010-03-14 | (D) David Ramsey | vs | Chris Walton | | British / French win | Had some good luck killing the German tanks on turn 1 and held off the British push for the German side with the wire and a HS. The carriers came on to protect the last building and it was all up-hill from then on for the Germans. |
2010-03-03 | (A) David Ramsey | vs | Martin Barker | | German win | Germans got off to a great start taking out the S35 and then as the title says, the Britsh got unlucky as they couldn't rally a strong stack at the end which would have made it closer. |
