Overview:

Only the truly fanatic remained in the old town by 19 April. General Simon now commanded only isolated bands of SS men or Luftwaffe troops here and there. Nazi political officers – known jokingly as “golden pheasants” for their love of fancy but phony uniform decorations – roamed the city enforcing the “no retreat” policy. Holding out in the ancient citadel, Simon was determined to keep the old town secure as a birthday present for the Fuhrer on the following day.
Attacker: American (15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division)
Defender: German (SS) (SS Panzergrenadier-Regiment 38, SS Panzergrenadier-Division 17 / Nuremburg Police Battalion / Local Hitler Youth and Volkssturm)

2025-08-14(A) Daniel Soukup vs Patrick German (SS) win0.12 hrsExcellent scenario in which both the Attacker and Defender thought the game was lost multiple times throughout the game. The Germans were able to withdraw a squad from CC in the last CC within the Vc building of the last CCPh of the game to win, so this truly game down to the last dice roll.
2025-03-23(A) Bob McKenna vs Bob Trufano American win0.12 hrsAmericans overwhelmed German left, gather strength with AFV. Held off right and moved toward VC buildong. Mafe quick work of German conscripts. American lost a few tanks but.manovered well

2021-08-30(A) Richard Jenulis vs Dennis Hess American winVerdict at Nuremberg mini-campaign, scenario 3. American firepower prevailed. 9-2 took out the last holdouts in the victory building with the very last shot. We had stacks that were 23 counters tall! I was glad to play this on VASL. Americans won the campaign game 8points to 7 points.
