Overview:
On 19 December the Scottish 2nd Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders received its next task, the defense of Kuala Kangsar. Success here would both deny the main north-south road junction to the Japanese and allow the 11th Indian Division to withdraw southward. If the Japanese beat the Argylls to the punch, the 11th Division would be trapped. Thirty miles north of Kuala Kangsar, the Japanese attacked the village of Sumpitan in force. Lt. Col. Stewart decided to stop the Japanese there instead of waiting for them to come to him.Attacker: Japanese (42nd Infantry Regiment (Yamaguchi), 21st Infantry Brigade, 5th Infantry Division)
Defender: British (Malayan Independent Company and D Company, 2nd Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders)

2021-03-06 | (A) David Ramsey | vs | Tom Repetti | Japanese win (VASL Log) | British (Tom) had the balance, which didn't really affect the game due to a malfunction on the first MMG role, whilst the Japanese broke its MMG twice in two shots. The British got all 4 VC points required but couldn't hold on to the last one during the last Japanese player's turn - but to be clear Tom didn't nothing wrong and was unlucky to lose his AFV to a lucky snakes on the street fighting attempt from a Japanese half squad. Tough on the British but not impossible if they roll well in either the initial CC or in the closing stages.

2017-08-04 | (D) Richard Carter | vs | Steve Aque | British win | Spreading Blazes. Steve was probably not aggressive enough with his units in the village.

2017-06-28 | (A) Eric Partizan Eric | vs | British win
2017-06-25 | (D) Gordon Jupp | vs | Paco Mainez | Japanese win | As others have commented, seems tough on the Brits. I kept moving and had, in fact, got four buildings by the end of Brit T5 but the Japanese were able to retake one in the last CC with ambush and HtH CC.

2016-11-20 | (A) Ian Morris | vs | Simon Staniforth | Japanese win
2016-10-20 | (A) Jeff B | vs | John Fedoriw | Japanese win | This one is really tough for the Brits. The bamboo channels their attack either up the road or around the sides and, at 5 turns, they just don't have the time. I imagine a lot depends on the AC surviving too and, in our game, it got gunned down by the MMG Turn 2.
2016-08-03 | (A) Bill Brodie | vs | Steven Bond | British win
2016-08-02 | (A) Andy Beaton | vs | Jeff Wasserman | Japanese win | Too many broke British in turn 2 meant they wasted a turn to regroup and couldn't dig the Japanese out in time. A short but really fun scenario.
2016-07-04 | (A) Michael Rodgers | vs | Bruno L'Archeveque | Japanese win | A bit tough on the British.
2016-06-23 | (A) Dan Best | vs | Larry Zoet | Japanese win | Texas ASL Tournament 2016.
2016-06-21 | (A) Jason Wert | vs | John Bock | British win | Outstanding scenario and wild time. Literally came down to the last CC with the IJA attempting to recapture two buildings. They achieved one through run, and on the second rolled snakes to ace the Brits. Needing the building though, they had to stay and die on the return CC. High recommend!
2016-06-12 | (D) Rich Weiley | vs | Pete Palmer | Japanese win | Took three buildings but couldn't take the church. A Japanese HS held out in the belfry. I think I lost this in the first turn with a very conservative British entry. Failed to appreciate that 5 turns isn't a lot of time!
2016-05-29 | (A) Richard Jenulis | vs | Al Davis | Japanese win | Enfilade 2016
2016-03-18 | (A) Kermit Mullins | vs | Richard Burton | British win | Round 2 of KC March Madness. Great game that came down to final hand to hand die roll.
2016-03-15 | (A) Mark Drake | vs | John Brown | British win | Down to last CC roll for building control--my Concealed Japanese 8-0 Leader (generated on a previous CC DR) advances into British-held building hex 67L6 vs 8-0,2-4-8,and 1-4-9 and attacks;Ambush at 1-4 odds in H-t-H and rolls an 8--Brits retain control of 4th building needed to win--Great scenario!
2014-01-19 | (A) nathan wegener | vs | Tim Breaddy | Japanese win | WO14 Playtest |
