As the German attack in the northern Corridor made steady progress to capture the Polish ports, resistance finally began to stiffen as Polish naval units were committed to a ground combat role. One by one the surrounding ports of Gdynia began to draw tighter. By September 11, "Corps Kaupish" was pushing in from all three landward sides. Finally on the 12th, the Poles decided to launch an attack of their own in an effort to regain some of the lost ground.

Very fun scenario. James had a bone-crushing attack that ripped a hole a mile wide in my center. Things looked grim by mid-game. But an unexpected stand by a small cadre on the hill on the Polish right slowed him down a bit.
The game came down to the last Polish turn. He made a valiant effort to take the last two buildings in the center but ran out of blood before he ran out of heart.

A wild scenario, the polish streamroller was unstoppable and at the end game I have lost about 80% of my OB (reinforcements included !). A polish hero was leading the attack and I thought that the last german troops were lost... Then, successively 3 heroic german leaders popped up, they didn't reverse the compromising situation but one firmly resist to the last CC in the last building requires for the polish victory. A really tight end game !

My initial forces delayed the Poles long enough for the reinforcement to arrive and hold the line, though at heavy cost.
The Poles advanced too slow and took 5 turns to take the first German hamlet. Meanwhile the German reinforcements had plenty of time to deploy in the second hamlet and pound the Poles as they arrived, so they conceded with a turn to go.

Held on because a squad was able to sneak around and recapture a building which diverted a good part of the attack force. StL2017

This scenario well deserve the high votes it gets here and on ROAR. It's an infantry only affair but strictly for very experienced players. The German players expecially needs to play a near perfect fighting withdrawal. Our game went down to a CC in the lone house on the german right flank: 1-4 CC capture attempt, I suprised the polish and get a total of -4 modifier. Roll 6 or less and win, 7 or more and lose: I rolled a 9. Lost but had a ton of fun.

Got to play this again as the attacker and the Germans set up back (later we realized because he misread the setup criteria) but it made for an interesting fight as the Germans fell back, probably too quickly. Poles have to keep moving and keep the pressure up.

Germans rolled lots of 12s, the Poles kept the pressure by moving fast, and the game was won by the last CC with the Poles unable to eliminate the Germans from the last building. A nail biter!
