Overview:
During the course of the Malayan campaign, the IJA landed in the north-western parts of Singapore on February the 8th. After the capture of Tengah airfield, the Japanese invading force, consisting of some 13.000 troops, moved south towards Pasir Pajang, known as “the gap”. Reaching their target on February the 13th, the Japanese were engaged by troops of the 1st Malayan Brigade, which was formed by indigenous soldiers led by British officers. The Japanese launched a heavy attack, supported by artillery and tanks which, after heavy fighting, including hand-to-hand combat, forced the defenders to retreat. Keeping up the pressure, a second attack followed on the morning of February the 14th. Both sides took heavy casualties, but finally the Malayan Regiment again was forced to fall back. One of their units, “C” Company, received orders to move towards “Opium Hill”, forming a last defense line. (FORMERLY RELEASED AS "Bukit Chandu" GRE4)Attacker: Japanese (56th Infantry Regiment, 18th Division)
Defender: Malayan/British (C Company, 1st Malayan Brigade and the Royals Regiment)

2023-07-27 | (A) Stefan Fiedler | vs | Daniel Wiberg | Japanese win (VASL Log) | Played the japanese side vs Daniel who had the brits. Up front defense on the east side with concealed hs and up front in the woods in the middle made me decide to go hard west. Moved the tanks in platoon (they are radioless) and ended up two heses from building in N9 while a double time assault platoon of 10-1+3*447, 2*LMG and a mtr ended up in U7. Some diversionary attack made through the middle grain to keep that side occupied and to put a FL onto the road hindering lateral reinforcements. Brit tried to move units over to the west side immediately but in T2 the AFV platoon managed to bypass sleaze N9 and first factory hex to allow a Banzai from 39u7 gtaht managed to break the defenders. ;eanwhile the brit had moved up his AC to 40G8. In T3 more squads and a 9-1 reinforced the west attacj from the centre aided by smoke from a mtr obscuring fire from wood around the road in the middle. T3 fire from N9 broke last line of defense in 49L7 and fire from a tank in N10 killed the AC making exist possible. 9-1 w friends cleared out half of the remaining defenders in K9 building after pinned them in adv fire. AT this point the Brit conceded in T5 as nothing could be done to stop Japanese unitsf from existing and the had amassed 17 CVP and 2 Builing VP with P7 VC building wide open for picking and factory almost taken. Fun scenario brits need to do an upfront fallback defense.

2021-06-13 | (A) Shane Pask | vs | Malayan/British win | Sent the tanks and enough troops down the East flank for an Exit VP win and everyone else at the factory buildings. A couple of good shots by the mortar on the hill ruined my attempt at the factory (wounded the 10-1 and reduced his platoon to rabble) but the East flank progressed well with little trouble. Poms forgot to bring on their AC until midway through the game and then it was summarily dispatched by a tank. I managed one factory building (49N9) but could not get further (the wounded 10-1 reached a second building but could not progress) and when the ATR finally got an immobilise result on a tank my exit VP were not enough. I finished with 16VP but I believe the Japanese chances of victory are better than the stats suggest.

2020-02-22 | (D) Vic Lauterbach | vs | JM | Malayan/British win | Very fun, tense fight - Jim's attack was relentless but he ran out of time - just barely. My AC had a short, exciting life, but I immobilized one tank with the ATR and killed another in CC. |
