German paratroopers landed on the Aegean island of Leros which had been manned by British defenders. Their objective was to take Rachi Ridge which lay astride a narrow isthmus in the middle of the island. If they could take hold that position, the Allied troops on Leros would be cut in two. . .

Germans suffered a scattered drop losing 2 squads, a leader and a number of squads splitting into HS. Still managed to retrieve all SW and get to the hills to setup a defense
Up to turn 8 it was a good match with the British pushing down the German left and overwhelming the force defending the one hilltop on the German right. Germans were able to rotate forces, rallying, keeping concealment and getting good results on a number of LR down 2 shots. While the British kept closing in they couldn't put together a good solid assault.
Then in turn 8, the British Heavy got a rate run and the German 8 morale proved pointless when rolling 9 and up. 3 full squads were broken, a HS vaporized on a 12 MC roll, a hero killed. The British sniper also hit as a 1 or 2 on 6 consecutive rolls causing further damage. This pretty much allowed the British to overwhelm the 2 hilltop position on the right flank in turn 9 (no units on the hill top to defend) and significantly occupy the hilltop on the left. The one German on a hilltop not Adjacent went Berserk causing him to run into a melee in a gully hilltop (that was on turn 10 so even if the Germans could win they couldn't satisfy the VC). The total end came when on dfire in turn 10 the Brits got a 1MC on my 9-2 with a FS+LMG which was in position to advance onto the hilltop for a last defense. 9-2 rolled a 12 and the squad rolled a 10. Poor ending to an otherwise really fun scenario with a lot of back and forth and strategy changes.
Learned a lot about para drops and crest status in this one.

Great match. Oddly enough, with a SAN of 7, he only hit it once.
His drop didn't scatter which helped as well.
I'd play this again in a heartbeat

Parachute games are always very random. Andy had a very good parachute jump with all his units in the correct board and nearly no losses nor units out of the playing area. He could place everyone in position before the Brits entered the game. Because of this, the high British sniper in the other board was useless. I attacked in two prongs and long range German fire did not stop my units. When I was in the foot of the hill I attacked with many units at once to divert his fire, time was getting short and then a lucky German sniper killed a leader stacked with three squads... all of them broken for LLMC. On the last turn I managed to break and get adjacent to the rest of German defenders except for a lone squad. My last squad tried to get there, to the last defender, stepped into a Residual Fire of 1, rolled snake eyes, game over.

Managed to land with my force intact, after that it was a question of exposing just enough force to slow the British down while keeping fire to a minimum.
