Starter kit scenario?:    Deluxe scenario?:
The March Russian offensive to drive the Germans back to the Carpathian Mountains had been successful. Partially due to Hitler’s “stand fast” order, many large German formations were encircled. Among them was the entire First Panzer Army of General Hube. Determined not to be part of another Stalingrad debacle, Hube and Manstein planned a daring breakout. Avoiding the favorable terrain to the south, Hube drove west across forested hills. The terrain was more difficult, and hence was less likely to be the move the Russians would expect. Elements of the elite 2nd SS Panzer Corps would drive eastward to aid in the breakout with a linkup expected in the vicinity of Buchach.

2018-06-02(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Russian winDan and I enjoyed replaying this classic scenario. It was the first time for each of us playing the ASL version. We played it fast and furious and by turn 7 the Russians had eliminated the necessary number of trucks for the win. My Panther did a great job, but my three MKIV's gave very little account of themselves before being destroyed. With no armor left, the Russians were able to clean up and start a truck dealership.
2014-05-03(D) Gordon Jupp vs Nick Holmshaw Russian winReally excellent game, real ebb and flow to it, cagey play by both sides until...Nick got really unlucky with his Panther, malfd and promptly X'd the MA, followed in the same turn by an IF Pz IV which was then brewed by a T34 - turned the game on its head and gave the Germans no chance as there was too much Russian armour remaining....will definitely play this again tho!
2013-09-20(A) Michael Rodgers vs Bruno L'Archeveque Russian winWe both made a lot of mistakes in our playing.
2008-10-25(D) Don Lazov vs Joe Pellam Russian win
