PolishGerman (SS)
As the 23rd Panzer Regiment failed to take Pabiance, the Leibstandarte Adolph Hitler entered into the firestorm and made great gains. Other units, however, couldn’t keep up with the Leibstandarte, with the result being a salient. The Waffen SS attack began to run out of steam due to the number of casualties and the desperate situation at hand. The Polish Army had no such shortage of men as units withdrawing from the west were ordered immediately into the battle. . .

2014-08-14(A) Jeff B vs John Bock Polish winThe Germans couldn't hit the broad side of a barn early and, at the same time, passed everything thrown at them. Persistence finally paid off for the Poles, breaking the last bastion of strength holding out in the marketplace. Just in time too, for the German reinforcement horde was making it's way onboard. A desperate clash ensued in the middle of the board leaving many dead bodies and, despite no quarter on both sides, lots of eliminated units for failure to rout. In the end, the Poles kept just enough of a toehold in one of the big buildings to hold out for the victory. I would go so far as to call this scenario a classic.
