Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler was ordered to move to Pabianice and relieve the panzers and thus encircle Lodz from the south. The outstanding road conditions on this march enabled the I/Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler to reach their assembly area west of Pabianice at 1000 hours, where it ran into the I/Panzer Regiment 23 whose attack on Pabianice had just been repulsed by the strong Polish forces equipped with strong anti-tank weapons.

German (SS) win
The defender had placed units in forward positions and I pressed hard against them. The armored cars got immobilized or wrecked but in exchange I destroyed his guns and half of his force. Seeing that the village was empty (and his HIP was already discovered), I rode the bikes again the reach the village before his retreating units. A series of CC ensued inside the village but it was very lopsided and he conceded on turn 6.

I played this one some time ago as the Germans, this time, I was the Polish. I set up to hit the Germans at longer ranges with MTRs (using Spotted Fire) and HMG. At the same time the fast ways to the village were guarded.
My opponent did not select the fast and dangerous approach but rather the slower and safer one, getting of the motorcycles early and doing a pretty good job in still closing in to the village faster than I had expected. He was cautious about the use of this ACs. My long range fire was not particulary effective, but the Germans were not really good at shooting thanks to the dice. My HMG survived countless 9+3 shots from armored cars. The Germans had reached the village in force in their turn 4, so time began to be an important issue. During German turn 5, my valiant Polish managed to break no less than 4.5 German squads and a leader, kill an AC and pinned another leader. I was mastering the best of tactics and rolling low while my hapless opponent suitingly did the opposite (also having malfed 3MAs of his ACs). This catastrophic MPh of German turn 5 broke the back of his attack because he had lost impetus and would require time that was not there to recover to bring this to a successful end for the Germans. So here, my my valiant Poles triumphed.
After having played both sides of this scenario, this is my assessment: If the German tries to move fast, it can turn into a bloody affair as long as they are on motorcycles. If they move cautiously, they will be pressed for time. The main danger for the Poles is likely turning out to be their ELR of 2. Eventually, they will suffer from it. Getting them back to GO is no easy task with or without ELR.

Polish win
I just finished a PBEM match of LSSAH#2 THEY STOP HERE. I had the German attackers (12 468 on side cars with 5 PSW 231). After five turns done out of seven, I was down to seven squads and the Poles (Erik Lindblad) had lost about three of their 10 squads. I had also lost 4 of my PSWs, three to only one of the two Polish ATG and the other to an MG attack. I was only just entering the town I needed to control, so I conceded. I think I might have dismounted the troops too early.

German (SS) win
I had the attacking Germans in this one. The scenario situation is interesting and somewhat unusual. The defending Polish are lodged in the well known bd10 stone village, which is modified a little by a church bulilding with steeple. Their force is decent with ten 1st line squads, 3 leaders, HMG, MMG, 2 46*MTRs and an ATR. The most serious drawback is their ELR of 2 and ELR 3 for leaders. The German force is lavishly equipped with SW - twelve of them, so every squad gets one. 12x 4-6-8 SS are surely tough and well let by 4 leaders. They all must enter on sidecars and have 5 thin skinned PSW 231 ACs with them, so they can move as lightning on the roads - if they dare... The German disadvantages are the CVP cap - he can't too many of his ACs, and that the Polish is the last to move which gives him the ability to grab back something the Germans conquered and left unattended. The German can't be too audacious with his ACs as the Polish have plenty of weapons with which to harm them. Then, even with good morale, Motorcyclists are very vulnerable. But the German can't afford to lose time if they want to secure the stone village that includes some row-houses as well. This basic situation of the scenario presages a violent clash. My plan was to move my main force up quickly along board 16, dropping off and assembling the 3x dm 50*MTR on the way to create one firebase to pummel anything so imprudent to remain in LOS in any woods. A smaller force was to take the route along the edges of bd16/bd10, then following bd10. This latter force was plagued by the enemy Sniper during the first 3 turns (rolling doubles on RS repeatedly which reactivated the freaking Sniper every time) and effectively neutralized by that one man show. With the OG and roads appearing quite scary, I advanced through the central grainfield which somehow proved much more slow going than I anticipated (dusting off the Motorcycle rules...). When I arrived in force in the 16U10/V10 woods area, the Polish had had enough time to redeploy especially, since my bd10 force was out of commission. Running into his HIP squad slowed me down as well. So it was Germans in woods vs. Poles in stone buildings across Open Ground. I had a bad feeling that this would take much too long, so I sent all of the stragglers on a far flanking hook to the very east of bd16. After having figured out the position of the ATGs and ATR, I resolved to risk one or two ACs to freeze the stone building defenders, hopefully pop some SMOKE and get close and personal. Luckily, this worked out (much helped by a 1,1 on a 9+3 shot for one of the ACs that broke two of his squads. Exploiting my luck immediately, I managed to hole up and take prisoner 4 enemy squads and a leader in the 10W3 building. Without these, the Poles had only 4.5 squads, 9-1, HMG, 46*MTR left (1HS and 1 wounded ldr broken)of them broken along with both ATGs. One of his squads was in a precarious postition. During DFPh Polish turn 4, my opponent conceded. I would not have given up yet, as I severely felt the time pressure on the Germans which at that point had no victory building under their control (likely the 10W3 building at this half turn's end). In my opinion this is a good scenario in which both sides will feel the pressure on them all the time.
