Overview:
One of Rodimtsev's junior officers, Lieutenant Anton Kuzmich Dragan was personally ordered by Chuikov to hold a key railroad station in downtown Stalingrad against an impending German assault. Dragan proceeded to gather a platoon of less than fifty men and moved them over to the railroad station. Here, the small but determined force prepared itself for the German attack. Soon after digging in, a substantial force of German infantrymen arrived to seize control of the station. The Russians proceeded to repeatedly frustrate the Germans in an epic room-by-room struggle for control of the depot for nearly THREE WEEKS. Breaking through walls, crawling over rafters, and burrowing under the floorboards, the Russians would yield but a portion of the structure to the Germans, only to emerge elsewhere and start the struggle all over again. Exchanging gunfire down hallways, hurling grenades back and forth between rooms, Dragan's men inflicted significant casualties on the Germans. In spite of this heroic resistance, Dragan's platoon was eventually reduced to a handful of men. After running out of ammunition, and with their rations gone, one of the Soviet Guardsmen took out his bayonet and carved on a wall, "Rodimtsev's Guardsmen fought and died for their country here." Under cover of darkness, Dragan and the five remaining soldiers under his command eventually slipped out of the building, made their way through the German lines, and were reunited with the remainder of the division.

2016-12-14(D) rene cote vs Mrosberg German winA teeth clincher right till the end. Last push with German FT in advance Fire phase and snakes made room for the Germans to slip back in factory in last turn.
2014-04-28(A) Richard Carter vs Alessandro D. German winThe German's kept the Russians from the factory. It was a fun scenario w/ attack and defense for both
2011-07-09(D) Fred Ingram vs Jeff Coleman Russian winWow - what an exciting end . With one turn to go I was threatening the north and south of the factory. Jeff, rallies his units in the south and procedes to break me in prep fire - eliminating any chance of losing a hex of the station down there. Up North is a different animal. I am already in hex F36 (but only with a HS) He is very strong in the adjacent hexes. I know I will be either broken or eliminated in CC - giving him the station. I have 9-1 led 8-3-8's in adjacent hexes with a few other support troops - but more importantly, a FT and a DC As expected, he is able to break my unit in F36, but more importantly, he fired a MOL projector into the hex, gaining a hit and thus leaving smoke. He then advances a 6-2-8 and a 9-2 into the smoke filled stone factory. In my prep - the FT rolls high enough to malf it, yet generates a NMC which he passes. Since it is noght, no multihex firegroups, so I try (2) 16+4 atacked from the pioneer squads with leaders - NOTHING !!!!!!! I then send a HS with a demo and get it placed. He does no damage in the defensive fire phase. In my advancing fire, the DEMO goes off only generating a 1MC which he passes. So EVERYONE piles in for the last CC. I have (2) 8-3-8, (2) 2-3-7 HS,l (2) 8-1 leaders and a 9-1 leader. He has the (-2 and the 6-2-8. We roll for ambush, there is none I then attack at 3-1 odds calling HTH rolling an 11 for essentially no effect (needed a 10), he rolls a 4 killing everyone and gaining the win. Actualy, he just needed to exist, it was on me to kill him to gain control of the hex. Very good game
2009-01-02(A) Fred Schwarz vs Mike LaPlante Russian winLooked bleak at first as I got beat up bad, but pulled it out in the end.
