As elements of the 101st Airborne Division dropped behind Utah Beach, paratroopers were scattered over a wide area. One of the many firefights that erupted across the Normandy landscape took place around a small farm near Azeville. Soldiers of the 'Screaming Eagles' rushed to the sound of firing and attempted to take control of the road that led to Causeway 4, the Utah Beach exit. The airborne troopers engaged the enemy in the farm complex, and in general, created havoc during the time between their drop and the coming dawn.
