2024-01-04 | (D) Jim Bishop | vs | Martin Vicca | | German win | This scenario is very much 3rd RTR in the Rain. Two squads possessed the .50 for me and both go berserk running off to their death. I set the Gun in the perfect position to get one and have two others lined up and fail in that too. Interesting puzzle but I don't feel the need to play it again. |

2020-11-18 | (A) Tim Wiegmann | vs | Mike Grogan | | Russian win | The scenario doesn't appear too difficult for the Germans at first hand, but a closer look at the OOB reveals some challenges. The 3 AFVs are nice to provide some initial cover for an armoured assault, but with a puny 1 FP BMG and a HE depletion number of 7, they are laughably ill-equipped to engage enemy infantry, and it's only the Nahverteidigungswaffe that protects them from being totally steamrolled.
My opponent made very good use of his HMG with the 9-1 leader, placing it initially on the first floor of W3 and later on in U5. This weapon dominated the battlefield, and caused the German attackers so many casualties that the game was over all but officially by the end of turn 4. |
2020-05-23 | (D) Andy Beaton | vs | Richard Hooks | | Russian win
2019-11-23 | (A) Raoul Duke | vs | BL | | Russian win | A remarkably unsatisfying scenario. German armor isn't even remotely suited to the task at hand, with limited HE ammunition and a dearth of MGs. I'd have happily traded all of the JgPz IVs for a Panther or Tiger. |
2019-08-10 | (A) Christian Knudsen | vs | Andrew Luden | | Russian win | A fun little scenario! We both wanted the Russkis, so I ended up as the Germans with the Balance. His gun was set up in a spot where I was able to get it with my infantry pretty quickly, but then I was nowhere near aggressive enough with my AFVs, and Andrew was able to get his last squad thru a swath of defensive fire, and then win a CC to take back just one of the VC buildings on the last turn. Good fun! |
2019-02-01 | (A) Kermit Mullins | vs | Scott Waites | | German win | Managed to armored assault into the village and take out the gun crew in CC without losing any tanks. After that, rout paths were cut and the Russians were done. |
2018-11-03 | (A) Denis Leclair | vs | Adrian | | Russian win | lopsided victory for the Russians due to rookie (German) vs pro (Russian) player skills. Good learning experience for me. |
2018-07-31 | (D) Jeff B | vs | Magnus Rimvall | | Russian win | I was very pleased with my setup, and when three Panzers drove into my AT gun's sights (two with side/rear shots) I was salivating. One was quickly turned into a flaming wreck, but in the process lost RoF. I made the mistake of not looking for APCR, and then made another by not intensive firing. So my well-planned ambush lasted all of one half turn as my crew went down to advancing German fire. I had hoped to bag two tanks, as I feared one wouldn't cut it. The southern outpost would hold much longer than I anticipated however, keeping 1/3 of the German force tied up for the entirety of the game. HoBs flew aplenty, with both sides generating heroes. Unfortunately for the Germans one such HoB roll turned their best leader berserk who, in turn, found a convert in the accompanying squad. They were mowed down by the .50 HMG in their subsequent charge. But it did look like the Germans would have just enough muscle, steel, and time to accomplish their objective. But just as they captured their last building, one of the pesky Russian HS (who had proved their mettle time and time again during the course of the game)would ambush withdraw and regain one of the outlying buildings. Having to survive two point blank shots from a German squad, they in turn returned fire on the Germans and busted them, thus ending the German chance at victory. A very fun and fast-playing scenario. |
2018-06-02 | (D) David Garvin | vs | James Montgomery | | Russian win
2018-04-28 | (A) Alan Krause | vs | Don Petros | | German win | Very close game. Came down to last CC DR! |
2017-11-28 | (A) Alan Krause | vs | Bill Jenkins | | German win | My Germans knocked the Russians from their buildings with 1 turn to spare. |
2017-10-21 | (A) Vic Lauterbach | vs | J. Miller | | German win | Friend's return to ASL after two SK warm up scenarios. 57LL didn't get APCR or ROF and failed to hit a JgPz before its crew was lost in CC. Main attack hit Russian right and took building P2 on Turn 2. Turns 3-4 were a fight for buildings P4-Q4, S4 and S6. Two Russian squads went berserk and one killed a JgPz to CC. It came down to CC for building R5 on the last turn! CVP totals: Ger 19 Rus 13 |

2016-03-19 | (D) Dave Mareske | vs | James Treu | | Russian win | The Russians locked up the German advance in a choke point and the Russian ATR scored a CH on one of the German Panzerjaeger IV. A careful Russian retreat allowed only three buildings to be taken. |

2015-11-27 | (D) Alberto Griffa | vs | Alessandro Demichelis | | German win
2015-10-08 | (D) Gordon Jupp | vs | Anthony Flanagan | | Russian win | ASLOK 2015. Really great game, went down to last CC phase, with combats in the last 3 required buildings, but Russians hung on! |
2015-03-14 | (A) Kermit Mullins | vs | Rick Salisbury | | Russian win | Round 3 scenario of the KC ASL March Madness Tournament. Rick's Russians resisted my Hermann Goering boys. His 57LL destroyed one Panzerjaeger IV and kept my infantry on their toes. Meanwhile his 50 CAL tattooed defeat all over my infantry. My game's end, I had managed to take 3 of the 8 buildings and was rooting out the Russians from a fourth one. But Rick's defense was solid and won the day. |
2013-10-10 | (D) patrick palma | vs | Neil Stanhagen | | German win
2013-10-10 | (D) Michael Rodgers | vs | Bill Cirillo | | German win | Russian ATG did nothing and was overrun. Attacker used Smoke shells, smoke dischargers and half squads to good effect. Over in three turns. |
2012-11-16 | (A) Steffen Knippel | vs | Paul Suderman | | Russian win
2012-11-02 | (D) Paul Messina | vs | Dan Preston | | Russian win | The Germans were executing an effective attack until they ran into the teeth of the Russian 57LL and lost 3 squads and a leader on a single DFPh (the 57LL kept rate and scores 2 CH's in a row). Top that off (during the same turn) with a Russian 4-4-7 killing two 5-4-8 MMC's in CC (rolled a 2 on a 1-4 attack) and it was over for the Germans. A very good scenario! |
2012-10-13 | (A) Jeff T | vs | JVan | | Russian win | JVan played a solid defense and made me work for every building. I got into position for the assault on the village early on turn 2 but stagnated for 3 turns without much effect. Great morale rolls for the Russians and just enough pins and good rolls to survive the morale checks.
On turn 5 the floodgates opened and the Germans renewed the push on the village. It came down to the wire, but I'd dug too big a hole, needing to capture 4 buildings on the final turn. I got into all of them and got 2 but locked in melee on a third (which could have gone into the Russian half of turn 6 to decide) but the back building where JVan left a final concealed squad eliminated my attacker in CC with an ambush. Fun scenario, a serious slugfest at close range and a great win for JVan with a mistake free game. This is good basic ASL at it's best. |
2012-10-13 | (D) John Van Natta | vs | Jeff T. | | Russian win | Thripshaw's description pretty much covers the action. This was a fun scenario that I would highly recommend. |
