Overview:

The first encounter with Soviet heavy tanks proved to be a shock for German panzer crews, whose rounds simply bounced off the Soviet behemoths. Even the Germans’ high-density AP rounds were of little use against the KV tanks. To break out of their encirclement, the KVs of the 2nd Tank Division simply rolled right through German tanks and anti-tank guns and into the lines of Generalleutnant Otto-Ernst Ottenbacher’s Infanterie-Division 36. Without FlaK or artillery, the Landsers could only hope to stop the iron beasts with high explosives – but to do that, they would have to get in close.

2023-07-08(D) A Fifteen vs Neil Stanhagen Russian win
2022-11-09(D) Pascal Boileau vs Julien Denis German winA very interesting scenario. None of the KV was worried by the shots of the German AT or AFVs. Conversely, Russian infantry suffered heavy losses since luck was clearly on the German side. In the last turn, the Russian VC were unreachable and we decided to end the scenario. Thanks to Julien for sharing his wise thoughts on the game !

2021-09-18(A) Chuck Dye vs DD German win
2020-11-29(A) Maurizio Mai vs Jeff Sewall Russian winVery nice scenario, played in PBEM. German was unlucky, the whole reinforcement platoon was wiped out in 1 turn. Last turn, KV2 hit the stone building and broke the last resistance.
2020-08-16(D) Andy Beaton vs Richard Hooks German winRussian tanks wandered into an ambush where 2 lost their tracks and 1 was abandoned, and were unable to clear the victory building.
2020-06-20(D) David Garvin vs Greg Barsness Russian win
2020-04-29(A) O Ramaille vs Eric Ricou Russian winDespite the early loss of a KV1 tank in CCRF during VBM, the Russians managed to take position in the woods during their assault. A hidden AT gun shocked another KV tank who promptly recovered. The AT gun was then quickly overwhelmed in CC. The German defense tried to restructure without much success due to heavy fire exposure. A Russian human wave forced its way onto the German defense giving the opportunity to the other Russian troops to move forward. The German armored counter-attack was unable to cause damage to the Russian heavy armor and on the contrary lost one tank and another in UK status. With too much broken troops and outnumbered armor, the German conceded the game.
2020-01-16(D) O Ramaille vs Eric Ricou German winA high German defense with a few half-squads disturbed somehow the Russian advance. The KV's were not threatening enough with evasive Germans. The arrival of Panzers took one of the KV1 by surprise using APCR. Several Panzer overruns on the Russian infantry created masses of brookies. The Panzers and the AT shot several rounds on the KV armor without success. The German infantry decided that it was time to withdraw north of the road. With 23 German EVP and only 8 EVP for the Russians, the battle ended in a German victory.
2019-12-26(A) nathan wegener vs James Treu Russian winSolid defense for the Germans up front and falling back. I struggled to get the infantry across the open ground but slowly picked apart the German infantry w my Monsters. A lucky shot to immobilize a Panzer III w a MG and an immobilized KV1 took out another. My 3 remaining tanks cruised across the road behind the German Inf. KV2 ruled the map taking out a couple of squads and a leader with various MG's and the main gun in separate attacks.
2018-06-12(D) Jeff B vs Pierce Mason German win2.75 hrsRussians had a lousy Turn 3 when one tank broke down, another was immobilized by the AT gun, and another malf'd its MA. They did manage to knock out one of the German tanks in the process, but the Russian infantry really had no answer against the remaining two. The Germans had also set both DCs in the big stone building, so it was unlikely to be a safe haven for easy Russian VPs. With all these factors working against them the Russians decided to throw up the white flag.
2017-03-09(D) X von Marwitz vs Chris Mazzei German winI played the German in this one. The scenario situation is interesting. The terrain is somewhat unusual and German armored reinforcements will enter in the rear of the Russians which entered from the same side. On top, the Russians have 4 "monster" tanks in 1941... With regard to the German setup, I believe there aren't too many viable variations at hand given that the German needs to fall back (without saying too much). The most important question for the Russians is how to play and move their "monster" tanks. I had fun playing this, though I believe that the Russians could need a little help, which impression seems to be mirrored by ROAR currently (March 2017) listing this at 39 German / 29 Russian.
2016-10-23(D) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. German win
2015-10-11(D) Michael Rodgers vs Chris Chapman Russian winI had two HS pickets and two of my dummies up front; I would not do that it again; they were too easily overcome for no gain. My other defences had the ATG and MMG on the German right. I had LMG in centre and left positions with the assault engineers scattered about because they were my other anti-tank weapon. The Russian attack focussed on the German left to reach the cover of woods early. The Russian tanks were required to move first and they did good work breaking Germans or locking their fire. I was able to break a few Russians as they moved up, but not enough. My engineers failed at one DC tank attack, but were successful at a second one. After two or three turns, there were a lot of broken Germans. My ATG finally had a chance to shoot at a tank; it malfunctioned on its first shot. I conceded.
2015-10-07(A) Gordon Jupp vs Pat Palma Russian winASLOK 2015
2015-10-07(A) mark watson vs Wes Vaughn German winSecond time with this scenario, same result. ASLOK 2015

2015-10-06(D) Gordon Jupp vs Stan Jackson Russian winASLOK 2015
2015-08-30(A) David Ramsey vs Martin Barker Russian winBit of a strange one with the German reinforcements attacking the rear and broken infantry worth points at the end of the game, which lead to both sides having harmonious brokies in the victory area. Interesting situation.
2015-08-19(A) Christopher Dawson vs German German win
2015-07-24(A) Dan Best vs Peter Ward German winSt. Louis ASL Tournament 2015.
2015-07-04(D) Rich Weiley vs Ivan Kent German winPaddington Bearz - July 2015.
2015-06-24(A) John Garlic vs Scott Bell Russian win[Imported from ROAR]
2015-05-09(A) Paolo Cariolato vs Gabriele Davide Mazza Russian winIn my opinion the game is a bit too dependent on the german 37L, with average luck it can take out 1 KV, with good luck a couple of beasts are possible, unfortunately for Gabriele his GUN didn't found any HEAT and after my mortars found ROF agaist his wooded positioned units, his fate was sealed.
2015-03-20(D) Andy Beaton vs Jonathan Kay German winVery close, a big force of Russians made it across the road but the Germans held the building and had the edge in mobile tanks
2015-02-23(D) Richard Jenulis vs Richard King German winAT-gun malfunctioned on the first shot with a KV showing me a rear shot. One KV immobilized in CC. The other three made it north of the road. Russian infantry piled into building sW4. Last minute heroics from the sole remaining Pz IIIH who smashed into the building and gunned down three Russian squads saved the day!
2014-12-27(D) Tuomo Lukkari vs Teemu Lukkari Russian win[Imported from ROAR]
2014-11-16(A) Eric Partizan Eric vs German win
2014-11-16(D) Andy Hershey vs Wayne Saunders German win[Imported from ROAR]
2014-11-05(D) Andy Beaton vs mark watson German winTough fight for the Russians with a lot of open ground and not much time
2014-11-05(A) mark watson vs Andy Beaton German winGood fun with the KVs, but not sure how the Russians take this one. Lots of open ground, and the usual strategies (Smoke, Armoured Assualt) are either outlawed or non-starters (Russian). Sort of a Schwerpunkt scenario in tone. My Commisar personally executed about 4 squads.
