The Soviet offensive was grinding forward along a huge front and there was little the panzer commanders could do but try to blunt the spearheads by attacking their flanks. However, in such a fluid situation, flanks were hard to find. Often times, the most effective method of throwing the enemy back was to raid their rear areas to disrupt communications. This scenario depicts an aspect of this mechanized guerrilla warfare; an armored meeting engagement between special divisional guard elements of General Manteuffel's Grossdeutschland division en route to a road being intercepted by a company of T-34/85s on their way to the front.
Attacker: Russian (T-34/85 Company)
Defender: German (Elements of the divisional guard of Grossdeutschland Division)
