The action depicted in the scenario takes place on May 28th, 1943 near Borisovka. Through this area ran what the Germans called "The Blue Line" after the pencil color used to denote this particular defensive line. The Russians were constantly probing this line and trying to break-through. At Borisovka, they had nearly succeeded in breaching the German lines. A heavy bombardment had set many of the wooden buildings on fire and had eliminated a great many of the German defenders. Supported by 4 lend lease Valentine tanks, the Soviets pushed forward to take the entire village. Only a fanatic charge of Germans led by Oberleutnant Karl-Will Lump managed to stop the Soviets and take back the village.

Misc Rules:
A: Heroic Lump may go Berserk by dr; all with him and adjacent go Berserk
The Blazes made the victory location fluid as the number available kept changing and avenues of approach become more limited. I kept Lump back and limited the number of MMC's around him. He finally lost it and went Berserk on turn three taking the only adjacent squad with him. They charged an adjacent Valentine. Lump. The game became a string of melee's (appropriate for the pack's theme).
The game came down to a single CC. Both sides controlled 5 buildings. A CX 4-4-7 advanced into hex N7 held by a 2-4-8 leaving us with the final possibilities.
- Russians win the CC and win the game 6-4.
-The CC is unresolved and we draw 5-5.
- Germans win the CC and we draw 5-5.
- Germans wins the Ambush, withdrawals to O7 and we draw 5-5.
- Germans win the Ambush and the 1 to 2 CC, eliminate the 4-4-7 and withdrawals to O7 for the win.
I went for the win, got the ambush and eliminated the squad by 1 pip. Doesn't get much better than that!

Used German balance. Germans had the VC advantage throughout the scenario until Lump went Berzerk in Turn 4 dragging majority of Germans into suicidal charge through open ground into 36-2 attack with expected disastrous result.

Odd little game...
DI on the Valentines with ATR's ...needing a 4. Love the design from the creators perspective...helps with the tension.
John is a spectacular player to play with! Nothing phases him no matter how many Disrupted units he gets...
All of his 527's got shot off their tanks, except the one that got stripped off by the orchard only to be FTR at the last turn of the game.
First turn Gusts caused 3 Rubbles to occur and FLames EVERYWHERE! Making the Fire the dominant terrain in the game.
Great little storyline fights in the streets, DC's not being a factor at all. I'd suggest using the DELUXE version of the maps when the fight gets HOT.
9-2 FINALLY went berzerk (SSR) at turn 4...ended up destroying a TANK (took 2 tries with a 7DR)...wounded and strolled down the street for a victory parade.
Thank you John!!

Great mash up as Dan and I grappled for control in the flaming village. My tanks fared better than my Russian infantry. Lump's kill stack was unstoppable and when he went berserk, it was lights out for my Russians. Great win for Dan!

Came down to the last CC. A lot of back and forth, but when the wind kicked up and then changed direction, there were blazes & smoke everywhere.
