Overview:
The Canadians dug in immediately upon capturing the Schwanenhof farm. German Fallschirmjäger counterattacked soon after but were repulsed. Major Kennedy, the wounded Commander of B Company, barked out orders from his cellar command post, directing the defense. As night fell the German attacks grew in strength and intensity. Whereas the muddy fields offered attackers no protection during daylight, darkness enabled them to infiltrate the Canadian positions.Attacker: German (6th Fallschirmjäger Division)
