Overview:
The Chinese troops under General “Vinegar” Joe Stillwell constantly caused him no end of angst. Frequent delays and hesitation added tremendously to Stillwell’s frustration. The Chinese, reinforced by Merrill’s Marauders, pushed down the Moguang Valley as part of the spring offensive to cpture Mythyna. Stillwell was surprised and gratified by the efforts of the Chinese 22nd and 38th Infantry Divisions to push down the valley. The Chinese slogged down the valley against experienced and determined Japanese defenders. The 22nd even demonstrated a touch of old fashioned valor with a bayonet charge that helped them capture the key city of Kamieng.Attacker: Chinese (Elements 22nd Infantry Division, 200th Division)
