Overview:

Between the Normandy invasion on D-Day and the Breakout from the hedgerow country during Operation Cobra, there occurred a hard, slow fight moving from hedgerow to hedgerow and from town to town. One of the major objectives of this battle was St. Lo. In the hedgerow country with limited visibility, any small hill took on great importance as it provided vital observation. 116th Infantry had just taken one such hill known as Martinville Ridge and dug in to consolidate. German tactical doctrine called for immediate counterattack before an enemy could reinforce any recently taken position. Martinville Ridge would be no exception.

2021-02-03(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins German win
2021-02-03(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German winMy Americans got in some early licks with the HMG, but couldn't hit the tanks with Bazookas...only needed a 7 or less and couldn't do it. I did finally get a hit on one tank, but again couldn't roll 7 or less to kill it and instead immobilized it and made it angry. The immobilized tanks then broke both US squad next to it. Dan's grenadiers broker everyone else. I conceded at the start of Turn 3, because all I had left unbroken was the 7-0, 2 x 6-6-6's, a 2-2-7, and a 3-4-6. My mortar broke and was destroyed and all of my bazookas were with broken squads. I was whipped and badly.
