Overview:

SS-Panzer-Division 12 "Hitlerjugend" was totally rebuilt after its mauling in Normandy, and many of its combat troops came not from the Hitler Youth but from the Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe. Still unaware the Germans had launched a major offensive, General Walter M. Robertson of the 2nd Infantry Division ordered his troops along Elsenborn Ridge to fall back to the twin villages of Rocherath and Krinkelt. Needing to secure a route known as "Rollbahn A," Otto Krass' 12th SS trucked through the woods and rolled over forward elements of the green 99th Infantry Division (with Robertson's veteran 23rd Regiment attached) and into Krinkelterwald.
Attacker: German (SS) (Kompanie II, SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 25, SS-Panzer-Division 12 “Hitlerjugend”)
Defender: American (Infantry Company M, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and 741st Tank Battalion)

2024-07-14(A) A Fifteen vs John Ling American win
2024-04-07(D) Louis Langdeau vs Alan HD German (SS) winSaw that this was considered pretty biased to the Germans so I took the Americans, and even then I have no idea how the Americans are supposed to take this. Seems like it really comes down to the Americans needing to guard the whole board, and the Germans only needing to get off in one spot. I was talking to Alan after the match and said that I was pretty sure he could have just slammed all his infantry into the woods and won with that alone.

Wouldn't recommend, and don't know if I'm just missing something or this wasn't tested properly. Still had fun with my opponent, but the scenario doesn't feel even enough to rate higher. Would love to see some American winners and see what they did differently.
2024-02-22(A) Eric Topp vs David Jones German (SS) winEven with the US balance, David was not able to prevent my Germans from racking up some easy CVP. After I knocked out his M4 reinforcements he conceded. We both think that the VC are overly complicated
2024-02-17(A) Lawrence Spangler vs Charles WatsonD American win
2024-01-28(A) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. German (SS) winBased on the recorded playings so far, I would have been embarrassed if I lost this one as the Germans. As others have said, this one is very hard on the Americans. If I played as them, I would have definitely ranked my enjoyment as low! The problem, again, as others have said, is that there are several ways for the Germans to win, and the Americans have to set up spread out. I feel there's one other problem as well. With no CVP penalty for the Germans, they can push hard and swamp the Americans on the side of their choosing without being overly concerned about losses. With a crummy 6ML and a spread out defense, any American squad that breaks will most likely die for FtR.

I picked Board 67 as the focus of my attack and pushed some squads up the middle to keep the Americans honest. My squads and tanks swarmed the clustered Americans over there and just like that, half the US forces were dead. It was over by the end of turn 4. This one needs some serious tweaking, IMHO. As it stands now, it's probably only good as a training scenario with the new player taking the Germans.
