Overview:

Just ten days after the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade's arrival into the Pusan Perimeter, it was tasked with going on the offensive and given the objective of seizing the sizable town of Chinju in the south-central portion of the Korean Peninsula. The Brigade's route of advance tool it through Kosong, and onwards to Sachon. The Marines had little trouble battering the troops of the 83rd (Independent) Motorcycle Regiment that tried to stop their advance; in fact, some of the enemy's motorbikes and GAZ 4x4s were captured an put to immediate use. On the morning of 12 August, the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines received orders to take the lead in the drive towards Sachon, and the point element was assigned to Captain John L. Tobin's Company B, reinforced with 15 men from the Reconnaissance Company and five M26A1 tanks from Company A, 1st Tank Battalion. The morning's advance proved uneventful, with the Marines occasionally passing burnt-out wrecks of North Korean tanks destroyed earlier by Marine Corsairs. In the early afternoon, only some four miles shy of Sachon, just outside the village of Changchon, the enemy put in their appearance.
Attacker: North Korean (83rd (Independent) Motorcycle Regiment (attached), 6th Division)
Defender: American (USMC) (1st Reconnaissance Platoon, Company B, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, and Company A, 1st Marine Tank Battalion, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade)

2025-03-21(D) Douglas Leslie vs Marc Hanna North Korean winThis is a brilliant scenario. With two turns remaining, my USMC were three victory locations short of victory and within 5 CVPs of an instant win for the NKA. With great difficulty, they managed to take two of the locations with the third almost sure to follow. It all came down to the final NKA move in the final game turn. With the USMC all but guaranteed to have all the victory locations that they needed on the final turn, a 458 passed its PAATC to advance into a building hex containing a vehicle in bypass. Only a DR of 3 or less would destroy the tank and win the game. Needless to say, that is exactly what was rolled to snatch the victory. Shame about the result but this was a blast to play. Ten out of ten.
2025-03-02(D) Rich Weiley vs Dave Wallace American (USMC) winVery good game. Achieved the victory conditions on the last turn. One point short of hitting the CVP cap.
2025-02-26(D) Eric Partizan Eric vs Michel Bongiovanni American (USMC) win
