Overview:

Having suffered severely from a German counterattack on 11 July, 1st Battalion, 115th Infantry Reg­iment, 29th Infantry Division had been unable to participate effectively in the Di­vision's attack towards St. Lô that day. Four days later, the Regiment's other two Battalions were exhausted from their attacks, and now it was the turn of the Battal­ion commanded by Major Glover S. Johns, Jr. While Company C engaged on the right flank, Lieutenant Peter Kordiyak's Company B, attacking on the left flank, faced a ravine to cross on the other side of which the Germans defended from dug-­in positions in a large, wooded area. With Division commander General Charles Gerhardt demanding immediate results from the 115th commander, Colonel Godwin Ordway, Jr., Johns was ordered to attack over open ground.

The first shoot by the Americans broke the German squad and leader in the bunker with the HMG (it only ended up with 1 shot the whole game. With this success the American walked in to OG in front of a Hidden Squad and LMG . 1 leader , 2 squads and 1 half squad broke. The americans attack on the right side was going well. Then the American sniper came out to play. killing 1 leader and the equivalent of 1 squad. Once the Americans made it through the Valley there was no stopping them The game ended in the Turn 6 American turn when a German half squad FPF and broken

2025-07-21(A) Andy Bagley vs Josh Kalman American winThe Germans opted to defend the woods line rather than setting up forward behind bocage, which allowed me to move up concealed behind bocage on my first turn. From there it became more difficult, particularly as the pillbox was set up in B4 to fire across the valley, and I took heavy losses including two of my leaders who both fell to sniper shots. However, I managed to knock out the German mortar, and also took the pillbox after approaching it from behind. By turn 3 I had reached the woods and the Germans were struggling with few troops left, so they conceded at that point. Possibly prematurely? They still had their 9-1 leader and squad with HMG, so I didn't feel victory was guaranteed,
