Overview:
Just south of the Danube River on l January, t}le Soviet 4th Army went on the offensive to seize the town of M6r. They were quickly defeated, attacking into massing German def enders and being struck by the Luftwaffe. Over the next 24 hours, the powerful SS-Panzer-Korps IV tore through Soviet lines, encircling several units while threatening the loss of more. Fresh reserves were hastily thrown into the path of the Panzer-Korps' spearhead to block the German advance out of the wooded, hilly area through Bicske and onto the plains beyond. SS-Panzer-Division 3 "Totenkopf' fought fierce tank battles against the 86th Guards Rifle Division and 110th Tank Brigade over the road hub at Bajna, but were denied control. Meanwhile, SS-Panzer-Division 5 "Wiking" outflanked the defenders in Bajna, catching them by surprise.Attacker: German (SS) (SS-Panzer-Division 5 "Wiking" and SS-Panzer-Korps IV)
