Overview:

The preceding day witnessed renewed all-out assaults against the Barrikady and Krasny Oktyabr factories as the Germans flailed away in pouring rain at the fanatical Soviet defenders in their well-fortified positions. Little headway was made, but much blood was shed. On 22 October, German pressure versus the Barrikady and Krasny Oktyabr factories was intensified as Gen. Paulus dug deeper into his barrel and committed the relatively fresh Infanterie Division 79. Reinforced by armor, troops of the 305th, 389th and 79th Divisions staged vicious thrusts at both factories in pouring rain. On the hills to the west of Stalingrad the season's first snow was falling.
Attacker: German (Infanterie Division 389/Panzer Division 24)

2017-09-23(D) Martí Cabré vs Carles Almirall DrawWe played a few turns and the Germans were about to overwhelm the Russian defenders but we had to quit. We burned a StuG using the MOL-P!

2016-05-17(A) Dwayne Duval vs Kevin Duval German win
2014-08-05(D) Aaron Sibley vs Andreas Reimer German winThis is tough for the Russians. Especially when the Germans roll well too. Twice the FT rolled 1,1 .
Fun but the Russians need a little extra to make it a classic...

2011-09-12(D) Jeff Coleman vs Fred Ingram German win
2011-09-12(A) Fred Ingram vs Jeff Coleman German winThis is Jeff's and mine first shot at a Red Barricades scenario together (although we have played a lot of VotG). Looking at the record ahead of time, we decided to give Jeff the balance as the Russian. Jeff set up to defend the buildings on the other side of the road as his primary goal, yet neglected to have any units on the upper levels. I had secretly decided to try and take all the stone locations north of the road. The mines were used as 2 separate (yet unconnected) hexes near the factory on the German left. Once discovered, they were easily bypassed. It was a steady grind moving through the factory. I had feignted an attack on the K22 building. If Jeff had placed his 50 cal and other MG in upper levels. he could have brought them to bear on the mass of stone rubble that was still required to be captured - but since he was on the lower level, all was out of LOS. I got a little to aggressive early losing the Stug with the 9-2 AL to a nice hit by the molotov projector, and another Stug in CC with a 9-2 led squad. I thought it was a good scenario. The Russians do need the balance.
2007-08-19(A) Aaron Sibley vs Tom Jackson German winGave balance, but Russians need more help.
