Overview:

With the U.S. Marines now firmly established on Guadalcanal, the Japanese landed more troops at Taivu Point, 18 miles east of the Marine-held Henderson Field. The Japanese commander planned to attack the Marine positions after having his engineers cut a trail through the dense jungle toward Henderson Field. Colonel Edson was dispatched with the reorganized forces of the 1st Raider Battalion to eliminate this supposedly small enemy force. In the early morning, the first wave of Raiders came ashore at Taivu Point where they found signs of recent landings. Edson quickly deployed his men to attack with two companies along the coast while a third curved inland to strike the Japanese flank from the south. At mid-morning the Raiders made contact with the defenders near Tasimboko.

2024-03-28(A) M T vs V.K. Japanese winA very bloody battle that went to the last CCPh. I probably lost too much time in getting to the objective and had to rush on the last turn. Good defense by my Japanese opponent, especially the use of intersecting Fire Lanes.
2021-10-08(A) Shane Pask vs American (USMC) winCpt Truit (10-2) broke on the second mortar shot of game and died of wounds on his first rally attempt. This was matched by the Jap 10-1 breaking (of course) on his first MC but he survived the wound. Both sides suffered several malfunctions and the FB took out 2 gun crews on one strafing run (DR of 3 and 2 - the second shot also malfed the gun). Japs conceded after my turn 7 with few of their troops remaining (all crews dead, only 1 wounded leader left) and my troops in 12 of 13 buildings.
2019-10-02(A) Jonathan Kapleau vs Holland, Donald Japanese win
2008-08-24(A) Peter Palmer vs John Knowles Japanese win[Imported from ROAR]
2004-09-13(D) Vic Lauterbach vs J. Miller American (USMC) winFrom ASLAP Notes:
At the end of Japanese GT7, Marines controled all 12 of 13 hut hexes.
In US MPh GT8, US can occupy the last hut hex (35oG4) with squad in H5.
Japanese player conceded at the end of US RPh GT8 with only two crews left, the chances of retaking a hut hex were nil. CVP totals - US 31, Japs 16 US decisive victory.
