Overview:

Elements of the 29th Infantry Division had been ordered to continue closing the ring around German forces trapped near Bitche. However, due to poor radio security, the Germans were quite aware of this latest development and had planned a flanking attack by elements of the 11th Mountain Regiment in an attempt to ambush the advancing Americans.
Attacker: German (Company 5, Jäger Bataillon I, Gebirgsjäger Regiment II / Jäger Bataillon II, Gebirgsjäger Regiment II)

2021-02-27(A) O Ramaille vs German winA great classic scenario with lots of possible maneuvers and high replayability. The scattered 3rd US Battalion suffered from the German OBA and ended quite slaughtered by the flanking elements of the Gebirgsjäger. When US reinforcements from 2nd and 1st Battalion arrived, they still had to wipe out the German troops from the higher grounds and free the rest of the road to the West. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to properly access their OBA and both M7 HMC were short on ammunition. The US succeeded in capturing the hills but failed to liberate the western road. Furthermore, VP casualties were too high for the 29th ID which suffered 54 CVP, whereas the Germans only lost 29 CVP.

2016-08-21(A) Jeff B vs Daniel Soukup German winWe played until the middle of Turn 8, with the Germans enjoying a commanding 59-17 CVP lead. The Americans were due their last batch of reinforcements, but the Germans had lined the southern Board 2 entrance area with bodies. This would either force the Americans to enter in the far north, or risk getting stuffed like the last batch of reinforcements did. With no tanks, no radio, and only four GO squads left in play it would be an extremely tall order to uproot the 14.5 GO German squads (many of whom were safely concealed along the road). Really fun scenario.
2015-05-22(A) Gordon Jupp vs Derek Cox German winGood game, Derek drew 2 reds so no US OBA and so the reinforced Germans attacked and battered the onboard US before their reinforcements arrived!
2015-01-05(D) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne Duval German win
