Overview:

As the initial expansion of the Allied beachhead at Anzio drew to a halt, the inevitable counterattacks began. The main attacks concentrated on the Albano-Anzio highway around the village of Carroceto and the Aprilia farm settlement known to the Allies as “the factory”. The factory finally fell to the Germans on the 9th after repeated attacks. Realizing the importance of this position, the Allied command ordered a counterattack by the U.S. 45th Infantry Division.
Attacker: American (1st Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment and 191st Tank Battalion)
Defender: German (735th regiment, 715th Division)

2025-02-19(D) Eben Johnson vs boudrenghien American winThe German's north flank must present such a wall of firepower that the Americans are forced away from the gullies and enter from the east. Nope, nice try: my separated German squads defending the north each cowered immediately with no effect, no fire lanes, nothing. I also made two, what was I thinkin'? bad mistakes.

A good time and an enjoyable opponent---first time I played a scenario speaking French about half the time.
2021-06-14(D) Thomas Lynch vs Zebulon Tingley German winGood German rolls early on put the Americans behind the time curve. American had only barely broken into the village by Turn 5, conceded on German Turn 6 with a strong defense still intact and none of the fortified building locations taken.
2020-06-14(D) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. German win
2016-02-13(D) Andy Beaton vs Richard Hooks German winDevastating German OBA put Americans in a tough spot from the start - conceded on turn 6.
2007-06-04(D) Aaron Sibley vs Gerard Burton German win
