Overview:

As Nationalist reinforcements arrived, General Orgaz ordered to resume the offensive to drive north and outflank Madrid. Republican units were being swept aside everywhere. Their situation was desperate, and General Kleber, commanding the XIth International Brigade, ordered the Thaelmann Battalion to hold a section of the Coruna road near the town of Las Rozas. The Germans were told to hold at whatever the cost and not to give even an inch.

2022-08-17(D) Jobbo Fett vs Hypnobeard Spanish Republicans winA nasty defense by the Republicans struck hard and fast, killing the best and worst Nationalist leaders in two shots. The attacker was very aggressive, that is true, but the near-constant KIA or K/2s I was able to get left us both gobsmacked. I'm quite surprised at just how unlikely the kill/break rate was, as by Turn 3 the Nationalists were down to about half their strength in unbroken squads, and one republican squad to their name. Despite all 4 tanks still being operational, there just weren't enough boots on the ground to capture all the buildings necessary, which is frankly far too many to begin with.

Consider adding a turn to the scenario, or perhaps dropping 1 turn and making the objective control all buildings within 2 hexes from 48Q5
