Overview:

In their attempts to stem the German advance to Calais and other port cities, the British dispatched the 3rd Royal Tank Brigade, composed of the 2nd King's Royal Rifles and the 1st Queen's Victoria Rifles. On 23 May, these units sallied aggressively out of Calais, attempting to breach the German line and, under a heavy rain, hit the 10th Panzer Division in the flank. In Guines, elements of a recon unit had already taken up positions with the support of an anti-tank gun. The British attempted to clear this force and continue their drive east.

2022-10-07(D) Alex Ashton vs Martin Barker British winAnother absolute schooling in ASL with my inexperience shinning through from the beginning. Two major newbie mistakes at the beginning settled the scenario before a die was rolled. I assumed his British squads would have to cross open ground because I did not notice a wall AND I deployed my AT gun HIP and then placed another squad in the hex.
On the first prep fire the squad attracted Martin’s fire and both it and the crew were broken. The average MC roll of 8.5 didn’t bode help.
It went down hill from there and I resigned after turn 4.
Despite being well beaten I enjoyed the experience and feel I will become a better player for it.
