Overview:

As part of the defense of the Krasnyj Bor crucible, La Segunda, the II Battalion of the 250th Infantry Division deployed between the 176th and the 366th Grenadier Regiments. Its mission was to hold forested hills along the Kornaia River. 5th and 6th Companies set up on the east of the front line and heavy weapons of the 8th Company, machine guns and mortars, were dispatched among the other companies. Frozen ground forced the Spaniards to build parapets with branches and logs shoveled with snow. Around 0600, Russian artillery began to open fire and shells fell on La Segunda for 3 hours. At 0900, regiments of Russian riflemen built up an attack and rushed forward as the artillery barrage lifted.
