Overview:
Operation Typhoon was in full swing with German panzers surging towards Tula and Moscow. Realizing the developing threat, the Russian high command sent the 4th Tank Brigade to reinforce the 1st Guards Rifle Corps, which was faced with halting the German advance in this sector. One of the 4th Tank Brigade’s battalions was equipped entirely with the new T-34 and KV-1 tanks.
