Overview:

As the brief reprieve the Allies received when Hitler ordered the Panzers to halt at the Channel coast ended, the Leibstandarte was ordered to support the 20th Infanterie (Mot.) Division in the general offensive to crack the Dunkirk perimeter. The 27th had seen the attack run into fierce resistance at Merckeghem and at Bollezeele. After securing these localities that eveneing, the Regiment regrouped for the expected tough fight for the next days' objective: the town of Wormhoudt, sitting astride the N16 highway, and a key roadblock on the way to the evacuation beaches.
Attacker: German (SS) (Elements of the Battallion II, Infanterie Regiment (mot,), SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler / Elements of the 2nd Panzer Division / Elements 16 (Heavy IG) Kompanie)

2023-10-09(A) David Garvin vs Nick FarynaA British winGreat fun in this one. I lost all four AFVs and both guns, which pretty much ensured a Brit win. More careful use of the guns from longer range would have served me better.
That said, I did a pretty good attack into the village and took about 3/4ths of it. I also focused on taking PWs for the double CVP at game end. That netted me about 16 VP at game end, wh ich helped, but it wasn't enough. Great fun!
2023-04-19(A) A Fifteen vs Tycho Granville German (SS) win
2021-09-09(A) Rich Weiley vs Dave Wilson German (SS) winI comprehensively lost the armoured battle in this scenario, losing all 4 German tanks while only managing to immobilise and stun one A10 (and the stun was due to on LMG shot). Despite this the turning point came in the British Prep Fire phase around turn 2 or 3 when I arrayed my 10-2 and two accompanying LMG armed 548s and a PzIV against the British firebase (9-2, two 458s, HMG/MMG) and the anti-tank gun. The British Prep Fire resulted in a K/4 which CR'ed a 548 and broke the leader and remaining squad. However the ATG missed the panzer on its first shot and then was disabled intensive firing. The return fire from the Panzer against the British stack resulted in 1 KIA which eliminated 1 squad and the HMG. The broken 9-2 and 458 never rallied and were eventually eliminated for failure to rout and the path to the multi-hex victory buildings was opened for the Germans. By turn 6 with most of the British infantry eliminated or captured and the bulk of the village (with the exception of the church) in German hands my opponent conceded.
2020-11-08(A) wayne baumber vs Joel British winA well place shot from the British A/T gun destroying a PzIV in the very first move of the game set the tone for the entire scenario, The SS were always behind the drag curve in this one and ended up a very comfortable Brit win.
2019-12-26(D) James Lowry vs Martin Marquis German (SS) win
