Overview:

Under the pretext that Poland had appropriated certain Slovak territories during the Munich Crisis in September 1938, the Slovak government contributed three infantry divisions to the German Army Group South, specifically the 14th Army. They were tasked with flank protection of the eastern wing of the Army Group South’s initial thrust into the Carpathian area of Poland. One such town that had to be cleared was Sanok. The Polish units in the area were mainly lightly armed border units which did not have much in the way of artillery or heavy support weapons. The recon company moved into position and at once dismounted from their bicycles and wagons. They led an assault with support from some light mortars.
Attacker: Slovakian (Reconnaissance Company, 1st Slovak Division Jánosik)

2023-02-23(D) Mark Thompson vs Slovaks (JCWil) Slovakian winWARR tournament. A caution cat and mouse match - with Slovaks AMing to maintain concealment and Poles skulking - until turn 4 brawl over central buildings. A HoB surrender of a Slovak squad put the Poles at 4-2 CVP at Polish player turn 6 with no buildings in Slovak control, but a Slovak squad was able to CX along Western flank to seize one building at North edge and the Slovaks tipped the CVP scales and took the game on the last DR of the game with a CC capture of a Polish squad. Very tight game and good scenario, but Polish OB will seem quite thin unless DRs are decent. Probably better to concede building control to avoid CVP.
2023-02-23(A) Jack Wilson vs Mark Thompson Slovakian winAs Mark noted, a very tight scenario. The game turned on two last-turn long-odds DRs. I was ahead in CVP until I foolishly moved a concealed squad adjacent to a 8FP stack. He declared a shot and got a NMC. I rolled 1.1- HOB. My next DR resulted in surrender! He gobbled up 4 CVP right there and was in the lead. My last hope was a 50-50 CC for CVP and building control. The dice were kind, and the Slovaks pulled it off. A well-played game that could just as easily have gone the other way.
2021-07-07(A) rene cote vs mrosberg Polish winwent hard and aggressive early . 3 big CC and a firefight between two big stacks ended up in Poles favour. couldn't regain balance after that
2017-08-11(A) Martí Cabré vs Solo DrawSlovakians pushed hard using a double envelopment. Poles kept breaking Slovakian squads but they rallied and kept forward. There were many CC combats and a couple surrenders, all the scenario the VP were even and finally the Slovakians won 14-13. Very tight.
2016-01-08(A) Thierry Mathy vs Jero Slovakian win
