Overview:

beneath the underpass of the western-most bridge that spanned the large east-west gully that carved its way across the northeast section of the town, the Germans constructed a wooden log barrier at the east end of the tunnel underpass. This barricade rose up some tow courses above an average man's height. At various points the Germans constructed firing ports in this barricade. One of the units that manned this post was Reserve Polizei-Bataillon 65. The gully that this barricade position overlooked was called the Policemen's Gully. The bridge itself was nicknamed "Kochbrucke" - Koch's Bridge - after a lieutenant by that name who served in Pi.Btl.65....This scenario pits German defenders against a Soviet force attempting to take out a barricaded tunnel section under a bridge. The Germans had barricaded the end of the tunnel to stop traffic coming through the gully. The bridge is in hex HH15 and the barricade blocks movement from II15 and II16. The barricade needs to be breached in order for the Russians to be able to enter the hex. Traffic from the upper level of HH15 cannot move directly to the lower level. The Russians win if they control HH15 or of there are no Good Order German units left at the end of turn 5.

2012-11-28(A) Richard Carter vs Will Fleming German winSo I started w/ a human wave and rushed the bridge hex in the first turn. I was able to get most of my units into position. My plan was to simply hold him off from retaking the position. It all seemed to be working well until I my units had to retreat from the actual bridge location and under the bridge due to breaking. I was able to move back in and the final CC determined the german win. He was able to eliminate my 447 holding the hex under the bridge in CC.
