Overview:

Wanting to block the German 19th Army's escape from southern France after failing to do so at Montelimar, Maj. Gen. Lucian Truscott, Commander of the US Army VI Corps, ordered the 117th Cavalry Squadron to probe the enemy's flank defenses north of Lyon. Some elements found a way through and Truscott saw his chance. He ordered the squadron to concentrate at the village of Montrevel which straddled the 11th Panzer Divisions main supply route. Squadron commander Lt Col. C.J. Hodge tried to gather his widely scattered forces as quickly as possible but couldn't get them all to Montrevel before the 11th Panzer hit back hard. Daniel W. Lee was serving as a Second Lieutenant in Troop A, 117th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. On September 2, 1944, at Montrevel, France, he single-handedly attacked an enemy mortar position. Despite being seriously wounded in his approach, he successfully killed or drove off all of the German soldiers. Lee survived his wounds and was subsequently promoted to First Lieutenant and, on February 4, 1946, awarded the Medal of Honor.

2015-04-19(D) mark watson vs Gary Trezza German winVASL League. Excellent scenario. Americans have to rush to defend a village as it is beset by Germans with half-tracks and heavy armour. The Americans get two rounds of replacements to help them out.
