Overview:

Immediately after the relief of Pointe-du-Hoc, Col. Canham, C.O. of the 116th Infantry Regiment, turned his attention to Grandcamp-les-Bains and its small but important harbor. 5th Rangers were ordered down the coastal road over a small, flooded valley and across the still-intact bridge. When they were driven back, naval artillery from the British cruiser HMS Glasgow was called in. Late that afternoon, 3rd Battalion, under Lt. Col Gene Meeks, was sent in along with three Shermans. “Tell Meeks to get his battalion moving and cross that damn bridge,” demanded Canham. The bridge was swept by enemy machine guns and mortar fire rained down on both approaches as Company K led the way.

2018-10-02(D) Jeff Waldon vs Michael Novak German winFtF - ASLOK
2018-06-17(D) Jeff B vs Blake Ball German winInteresting scenario in that the points of attack and defense are different than the typical. I think this scenario favors the Americans with the SSR allowing them to become fanatic and the limitations on the German setup area. Bocage should be the Germans' friend however, and fire lanes the name of the game. Jockeying for who gets mortar dominance will play a big factor.
2018-04-22(A) jon smith vs german German wingermans set up on reverse slopes and out of sight of the yank HW company and tanks... early smoke and WP placement covered the yanks push onto the wooded hill and around it through gully and into town... things looked good for yanks till a long range 1 at -2 shot at yank kill stack got a snake eyes and wiped the lot.. without the firepower to take the last building the americans fell short by 1 turn with germans down to last mmc...
2018-01-01(A) B-E Karlsson vs German German win
2017-01-28(A) Andy Beaton vs Richard Hooks American winLost my hero on the first mortar shot of the game, so the Americans never went fanatic. My left flank attack was chewed up pretty bad, but I got the mines clear while the other infantry were being shot up. Good shooting from the HMG/Mortar firebases on the wrong side of the river kept German heads down allowing me to clear the right hill and start unravelling the German defense. Lost a tank to a German 81 but the other tank got behind the German defence and it all started crumbling at high speed. Fun scenario, and I'm glad I didn't give up on turn 2 like I was tempted.
