Overview:

After the swift and total Axis victory over Greece, Bulgaria laid claim to Thrace and Macedonia. Throughout the winter of 1941-42, small bandit groups began to emerge as the nucleus of a fledgling resistance movement. On March 29th, two such bands looking to augment their meager armory raided a Bulgarian encampment in the Rhodopes Mountains. They made off with a number of weapons including light and tripod-mounted machineguns. A Bulgarian infantry company, after sorting itself out, set off in pursuit of the bandits. . .

2021-09-24(D) Vilis Pavulans vs Kai Glanz Partisan winLooks horrible for the Bulgarians who have to cross a lot of open ground. This made them advance a bit too slow and by turn 5 they were suddenly in a great hurry. A quick rush over the fields did of course yield some casualties but a surprising amount of men got close to the objective area, not many enough though. Partisan win.
2020-12-12(A) Doba Serge vs Pascal Boileau Partisan win
2020-12-12(D) Pascal Boileau vs Serge Doba Partisan winA good scenario for learning patience in ASL. Captured SW and units with a low range of fire make the Partisans think two times before taking a shot... Chance was on both sides but ultimately for me in the last turn with some Bulgarian units pinned unable to move in APh. It was a very close and thrilling end game.
2020-06-12(D) Raoul Duke vs MB Partisan winRather uninteresting overall. Bulgarian setup is 90% scripted, and the Partisans don't have many defensive options. For the Partisans, it's sit, take -2 shots, hide when you can. There just isn't much room to maneuver. If the Partisans' machine guns refuse to malfunction, the Bulgarians will have a VERY hard time.
2019-12-05(D) Jeff B vs Andreas Reimer Bulgarian win5 hrsPretty boring defense for the Partisans. Maintain concealment/MGs as long as possible. Against an aggressive attacker this will be hard. Mostly this one depends on the Bulgarian mortar and how long the Partisan MGs last. My defense was looking quite stout until a Turn 5 mortar shot blasted my (supposedly safe) kill stack. One dead squad, two more broken (along with my 9-1), and an unmanned MMG later and my whole northern defense fell. Considering I had no GO MGs left, after that It looked very grim. But on Turn 6 my 7-0 managed to take out a CX conscript/7-0 in CC, and a couple of my squads and leaders were able to make it into CC with almost a full stack of Bulgarians (along with one of my MMGs). If I could take them out I'd be looking good; if I could tie them up I'd be looking decent. After my "12" he was able to withdraw his 2.5 squads into the victory area for the win. Major bummer.
