Overview:

On the 11th of November the Germans launched an offensive in the Barrikady district with elements of two infantry divisions, backed up by five especially formed pioneer battalions, armed with satchel charges and flamethrowers. In addition two assault gun detachments supported the main effort. Much of the blunt of this blow fell against Col. Ivan Lyudnikov's 138th Rifle Division. Six days later, his forces had been reduced to a mere 138 combat effective men. A figure of 358 wounded sheltered near his command post, who could not be evacuated because German fire interdicted the Volga in the area. Lyudnikov and his men continued to hold out in an area that was not much larger than a horseshoe-shaped 450 by 600 meter pocket nicknamed "Lyudnikov's Island".

2026-04-27(A) Seumas Hoskins vs Dean German winGermans force concentrated the northwest corner. A russian fortified building placed right in the northwest corner proved challenging to approach as a placed DC couldn't do much. Luckily though, the russians feared the worst and called for OBA on the corner including their own building. Their blasts wrecked their own units as germans skirted around the blast area. A southern push up the middle quickly took out russians there with no german losses. AT gun jammed before landing a solid hit. At this point the germans could play the slow game having control of several buildings with only 1 HS loss.

2020-07-19(D) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne Duval Russian/Russian (NKVD) winRussians setup forward defense in fortified locations which kept German main thrust in the middle from making any progress. Fanaticism for NKVD in LOS was a great help. Molotov projector started fire that mostly cut of the north side Germans who were then forced down along the river and were eventually mauled from constant fire from the cliffs. First win for me in RB (1-11) playing Russians!
