Overview:

The Italian leader Benito Mussolini had fled, leaving control of the country to the Germans. After heavy bombing of Naples by the Allies, failed Italian leadership, executions by the Germans, looting, and poverty, the citizens of Naples had nothing else to lose. As the Allies were advancing north from Salerno, the Germans started a retreat from Naples but not before booby trapping the city and torching the university. A few Germans stayed behind to lay down "horrendous fire with tanks, artillery and machineguns". Italian lieutenant Enzo Stimolo led a band of young boys to capture munitions from a supply depot in addition to scrounging weapons of any kind -- German and Italian. Italian military loyal to the homeland joined with the boys and mustered their moral to take revenge on the Germans before they could retreat.

2022-04-25(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins Italian / Partisan win
2022-04-25(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Italian / Partisan winTough game that went down to the very end as the Germans tried to exit through a hail of fire. Dan managed to exit 12 VP, but then wasn't able to get the 6 or more CVP vs. the Italians. So the Italians barely get the win.
2020-10-10(A) Michael Rodgers vs John Lehman Italian / Partisan winQuirky map layout. Our low tempo game went to the last turn. Germans exited enough but were short on CVP.
