Overview:

By the morning of the 27th LtCol Sutter's 2nd Battalion was closing in on the district that held Deoksu Palace and some of the first embassies to be opened in Korea in the course of the nineteenth century. In doing this the 2nd Battalion was racing Taplett's 3rd Battalion for bragging rights as to liberating the city. Aiding Sutter's battalion was the fact that a correspondent from the New York Times, who was familiar with Seoul from its pre-war days, had attached himself to Captain Fredrick's E Company and helped guide it through the side streets that lead first ot the Embassy District and then onto the nearby palace grounds.
Attacker: American (USMC) (E Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division)
Defender: North Korean (Seoul City Regiment, the 78th Independent Infantry Regiment and 25th Infantry Brigade, 111th Security Regiment, 513rd Artillery Regiment and 17th Rifle Division)
