Overview:
The 110th Infantry in the woods to the south had attacked at 1200, its 3rd Battalion moving generally southeast in the cross-country direction of Simonskall and its 2nd Battalion aiming for eight or ten pillboxes astride the main road south toward Rollesbroich. Both battalions were stopped after almost no gain by determined resistance and heavily fortified pillboxes.
