Overview:

VASL setup file under USER FILES . . .On 14th May, out of fear of an encirclement, a retreat was ordered from the fortified positions on the border with Belgium that were successfully resisting the German attack. The new positions had be reconnoitered but not prepared before the move and the Germans closely followed the French troops. Inor village was supposed to be on the rear of the front but the Germans managed to slip forces through a gap in the French line to reach it. The forward elements of the 6th Infanterie Division tried to take the village by a coup de main before the French had time to organize their defense.
Attacker: German (Reinforced elements of Infanterie-Regiment 196, 6th Infanterie-Division)
Defender: French (Retreating elements of the 246th and 134th Regiments d'Infanterie and elements of the 14th Regiment de Tirailleurs Algeriens)

2023-12-13(A) nathan wegener vs Wes Vaughn German winHighlight was rolling thru town on the first turn with my AC's stopping to take pot shots at the wagon and towed gun. Rolled snakes and eliminated them. The rest of the game was spent rolling through the town building by building pushing the French back until they were all broken in turn 4 despite losing all my AC's in street fights. Nothing to stop me from exiting my truck, crew and gun along with a couple of squads of prisoners with a guarding HS. Wasn't clear to us how the French were supposed to stop the Germans.

2023-01-23(A) Killian M vs German win
2022-09-03(D) Stephen dedier vs David Reenstra French winDave and i decided to play through the Inor scenarios
This was a very interesting game with several twists and marked by mistakes made on both sides (truth be told Dave missed a move that probably would have given him the game).
Early on a killer sniper took out the French 9-1 and 2 squads with him broke on the LLMC. The French lost the gun trying to gallop the wagon (rolled a 6 on the 1st hex entered).
Dave pushed down the French right with the MC and AC and up through the town. Methodical success and poor morale checks by the French let the Germans keep pushing. Heroic French AT guy killed one of the small AC's, the killed a German HS attempting an OVR, took out another in CC and then killed the other small AC. That made the German exit VC more challenging.
Dave wouldn't let me get any of my broken guys back after i lost the only remaining French leader through poor placement (those MC can move pretty far if you give them any road) and good shooting.
It all came down to the last German turn. Buildings were going to be easily taken so Dave had to exit either the 9-2 leader or the truck pulling the gun. Both had to run down the road past a French squad. There was an encircled crew the truck also had to pass.
Leader shrugged off the first 8 down 1 MC but pinned on the 4 down 1 MC. That left the truck which had a 4+1 adjacent on the * vehicle and rolled a 4 to immobilize and take the game.
I would change the French setup to keep both leaders closer to the town and i would setup the gun right on the road in the orchard as a hindrance to units trying to get into the French rear.
Fun scenario that i would play again.
2022-09-02(A) Doba Serge vs Pascal B. German win
2022-09-02(D) Pascal Boileau vs Serge Doba German winA very interesting scenario. The issue was decided in the last turn and luck was not on my side this time.
Taking the buildings was not a difficult task for the German but exiting the required VP was another story. The French troops have to slow the German juggernaut and exchange space for time, it almost works...
Well played Serge !
2022-07-28(D) Tuomo Lukkari vs Rami Saarinen French win[Imported from ROAR]
2022-05-02(A) John Garlic vs Martin Marquis French win[Imported from ROAR]
2021-11-04(D) Andy Bagley vs Neil Brunger French winVery good scenario, challenging for both sides. The German forces are far superior to the French but the victory conditions are very tough, involving both building hex control and exit VPs.
Things began badly for me as the French. I set up mainly to defend the main north-south road, but the Germans drove a motorcycle HS and two Kfz13's (which look like motorised bathtubs) straight through a hail of fire completely unscathed, breaking my INF Gun crew in the process. As expected, they also captured the northern part of the village with ease. Perhaps they should have kept the KFz13's moving and just exited them straight away, completing that part of their VCs at once. As it was, they stopped and a long-range shot from my AT gun on the hill destroyed one of them, so only one got off.
This was the start of better luck for the French, as resistance stiffened in the village, aided by a hero who helped to take out the German PSW222 in CC, and some brave defence by a squad on my left flank which survived heavy enemy fire to hold that side of the village almost single-handed. In the end the French took heavy losses and the Germans just managed to capture the required number of stone building hexes, but they couldn't get enough troops back to their motorcycles soon enough to drive off for the exit VPs they needed.
That was just how we played it though. Lots of options for both sides, so a scenario with good replayability.
2021-11-03(A) Paolo Cariolato vs Federico Corso German win
2021-10-24(A) Jonathan Kapleau vs Duenskie, Ron French win
2021-10-14(A) Richard Jenulis vs Brent Morris French winThe Germans played too aggressive on turn 1. Ended on French player turn 5 with 16 building hexes controlled, but not enough EVP in reach of the board edge. The French played a solid defense.
