Overview:

After six weeks of bloody combat, the latest Soviet attempt to severe the Rzhev salient had again bogged down into positional warfare. Starting on September 9, Konev's 31st Army made another attempt at progress. The weary 9th German Army braced for impact. As the Russians advanced, soon-to-be-famous Hugo Primozic brought his 3-vehicle assault gun platoon forward through brush to reinforce a thin line of German infantry.
Attacker: Russian (31st Army)
Defender: German (9th Army and 667th Assault Gun Battalion)

2025-05-31(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Russian win2.17 hrsGerman STUG's never got a hit and were all MALF'd on Turn 1 - 9-1 STUG would be knocked out and the other two RECALLED. That was game, but we played on until the Russian tanks completely surrounded the German infantry at which time I conceded at the end of Turn 4.
