Overview:
Heavy fighting raged around Bayeux, where Panzer-Lehr-Division had been thrown into the fighting. As British and Canadian troops attempted to push south towards Tilly and Lingévres, attack and counterattack ebbed and flowed across the Norman countryside. On 11 June, the 69th Brigade attacked towards Cristot and made some progress. Units of Panzer-Regiment 901, led by Major Prinz Wilhelm von Schönburg-Waldenburg, were ordered to counterattack.
