On 6th October 1943 GASt Dautscha, an isolated German border post in the mountain village of Davca, Slovenia suddenly found
itself under severe attack from local partisans. The partisans were determined to wipe out the post and send a very clear message to their German overlords. The situation was only saved by the swift intervention of Zollassistent Johan Bremken and his ‘Gruppe Bremken’ consisting of border guards from Bremken’s own post of GASt Zarz and others from GASt Petersberg.
