Overview:

Lieutenant Dean Hawkins, and his Scout Sniper platoon had the distinction of being the first American force on the island of Betio. He led a detachment of engineers and his Scouts along the pier on D-Day taking out bunkers and buildings likely to be in the way of the following assault waves. On the second day Hawkins was a veritable one-man show going after pillboxes and fortified buildings. When not on his own, he repeatedly led assaults into "The Pocket", to relieve pressure on the pinned Marines on the beach and to stop the deadly enfilading fire. Hawkins personally destroyed 6 pillboxes on the second day on Betio. He would throw a grenade, then rush the emplacement, then stuff another grenade or Demolition charge into the aperture.

2016-12-20(D) Zeke Crater vs American (USMC) winAs with others, luck played too large a role in the outcome. Several KIA results left the Marines unable to take the pillboxes. What the Marine player remembered that I did not, was that a captured ART is worth 4 CVP. The Marines captured the 70 ART and with that achieved victory via CVP.
2016-02-18(D) Jason Wert vs Michael Daschbach Japanese winGreat Scenario, but Mike was harshly treated by the dice with 2 squads dying to Booby Traps or Fate. Still a blast to play and we laughed the whole time.

2014-07-21(A) Aaron Sibley vs Jeff Coleman American (USMC) winThe dice can be cruel in this game, but this scenario was ruined by them. Mine were hot, and Jeff's were Alaskan...shame as his setup as the japan was clever.
2013-01-19(A) Richard Carter vs Steve Cummings American (USMC) winWe switched sides and I was able to come up behind his units. I won w/ CVP's. I had a lot of luck on my side I will say. Seems that the Japanese set up needs to be good. Need to have pillboxes able to support each other from all sides given USMC able to set up anywhere around the Japanese set up area

2012-12-27(A) Steven Cummings vs Richard Carter American (USMC) win
2012-12-20(D) Richard Carter vs Steve Cummings American (USMC) winThe hard thing about this one is that the pillboxes can't set up HIP. I think I should have used a Bombproof, but used a Fortified building instead. He decimated me. I did malf my AT gun as well as the HMG in the process though
