The 1st Platoon under Lt. Edward Bale would take six Shermans to Red Beach One. Scouts were assigned to be pathfinders, leading the Shermans ashore over the treacherous reef.Attacker: American (USMC) (2nd and 3rd Battalions, 2nd Marines and 1st Platoon, C Company, 2nd Marine Tank Battalion)

The Japanese had 1 broken crew, 1 crew manning a gun South of hexrow O. 1 crew and 1 HS on hexrow O. I managed to KIA the crew in advancing fire of last 1/2 turn and the HS was in the Ocean. I was actually ready to enter into CC and tie him up but we realized two things 1) No CC while wading but 2) to win the Japanese MMC had to be on hinterland or beach. So it was not the most glorious win but it pays to reread the VC's ... I had fun with it though. | ||
