Overview:

With the civilians evacuated and the town fortified by two anti-tank ditches, the defenders of the town of Goch waited patiently for the inevitable Allied assault. For the Allies, the plan was for a dual assault by two Scottish Divisions via a set piece attack with supporting arms. Considering the ease with which the patrols penetrated the first anti-tank ditch, the commanders revised their plans. The lead battalion, the 8th Royal Scots was to charge the second ditch and if possible rush into Goch. The second ditch was 25’ wide and 10’ deep, therefore this coup de main relied on the success of the supporting AVRE laying their bridges across the ditch.
Attacker: British (8th Royal Scots, 44th Brigade, 15th Scottish Division and 4th Tank Grenadier Guards)
Defender: German (8th Fallschirmjäger Division)

Clarification: B24.12: If an SSR states that a player may place rubble counters anywhere on a board prior to the start of play, and if that player places a rubble counter in a multi level building does he then roll for falling rubble and thus possible further building collapses? A: I think a good SSR would address this issue. Many do. In the absence of a specific scenario, my take would be "No"Perry Sez

2022-04-29(A) Øyvind Jacobsen Bjørkås vs Dennis British win
2022-01-26(A) Andy Bagley vs Neil Brunger British winA close one, with the British just securing the required number of buildings in the last Advance Phase.
Things started out as planned for the Brits, with the infantry advancing under cover of lots of smoke, aided by a German MG that malf'ed to cancel a fire lane. The bridgelayers also did their thing with no problem, so the tanks were able to cross the A-T ditch. Casualties mounted as the Brits approached the village however, and I was over-aggressive on a couple of moves resulting in the loss of one leader, breaking another, and several squad casualties. The Germans were taking losses too though; they had rubbled building on the western edge of the village, but could not pull back much because the Brits need only five buildings to win. It then became a running battle around the village with buildings being taken and retaken in a mass of close-quarters fighting. With very few troops left on either side, the Brits just managed to clinch it by virtue of having the last turn!
More than the normal amount of rules-checking needed for this one, due to a combination of unusual vehicles and unusual situations, but we got through it OK - an enjoyable scenario.
2017-06-22(D) Paolo Cariolato vs Federico Corso British winthe game went to the wire, the game was won for the british by a Churchill escaping 2 PF shot (8 & 8 TH) ESBing for 2 MP and hitting (5TH) the last pzjag destroying it in the process (6TK) this open up the hex for a british sq in order to advance in a free house during the Advance.
Very good scenario, but the German need to carefully set up his pillbox and more over the rubbles, which need to be used to deny VP buildings to the british reach and channel british AFV.
